“Incredibly historic building with unique individually decorated rooms! Perfect location for walking around Stonetown. Delicious breakfast served on rooftop! Request Belle room if you don't want a lot of stairs. It has a huge balcony along the front of the building so it's fun to see tourists stop and take photos!”
“I loved the charm of the old building. Breakfast was included and was very good. The famous Lukmaan restaurant is right around the corner. There is a mosque across the alley, so you will hear the call to prayer unless you’re a heavy sleeper. There is also street noise but it usually gets quieter the later it gets. There is no parking. Make sure the taxi driver points out the building because it’s very nondescript. Overall a great place to stay. ”
“We can't say enough good things about our stay at Habari House. My husband and I travel quite a bit and never have we stayed somewhere with such gracious hosts as G and Lucy. They welcomed us in and made sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. In fact, when I mentioned that my mattress was a bit firm, they went out and got a new mattress and a foam topper to ensure I would have a good night's sleep. I didn't want them to go to the trouble, but they graciously insisted.

“Perhaps there are better rooms, but our room ( nadia) is very noisy throughout our stay. Not just u could hear people shouting and chirldren playing and car horns, but the worst is that there are some sort of
aircon machines right outside yr window so u can also hear the engine sound. There are too many more quiet but equally convenient boutique hotels in Stonetown but since we had already paid so we could not change hotel. DONT TRUST THE COMMENTS ANY MORE FROM HOTELS.COM! (P.S. WE COME FROM……
“A simple but comfortable hotel with a great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful – they even stored our luggage while we went on a safari to Tanzania. Excellent service!”
“Rashid and Kelvin were the absolute best hosts! So nice I came back twice. Emerald Palm is the home away from home. Staff are warm and friendly and it's in a great location in Stone Town. Definitely recommend this hotel. ”
“Charmante maison du début 1900.mobilier art déco et ou l art primitif africain s y mélange .pas loin du centre ville et face a un beau parc donc a l écart du bruit du centre ville a proximité.
Petit déjeuner délicieux donc un rapport qualité prix dans cette ville touristique et assez chère.”
“We would love to thank the entire staff... From the registration desk, to waitress, to the cleaners... Same service level. Thanks to Marie, Doreen ect... Amazing service level!

“Hébergement propre et super service. En revanche la salle de bain est à revoir, avec de l'électricité dans la douche (boite de dérivation ouverte dans l'espace douche). Réservé davantage aux backpackers habitués à voyager dans des pays aux normes moins contraignantes qu'en Europe/US. Occidentaux "froussards" passez votre chemin !!!”
“I stayed here one night after landing in stone town.
Perfect spot to nap on and off to get through the jet lag and be right in the heart of stone town. Extremely walkable to sites. The rooms are spacious, excellent shower and super comfy bed. Very clean and was just what I was looking for.
Please note that it was a bit difficult to find. The taxi just dropped me off on the main road because cars can’t access the small streets. Once you know where it is, it’s super simple to return to”
