Overall it was a pleasant experience. They did mix up my rooms initially, and the mini fridge temp was warm. It definitely needed to be cooler.

The place is a very small inn and quit Inn. Not much to look from the exterior, but we were pleasantly surprised at the comfort of the place. The rooms are super clean, the bed and bedding was so comfortable. They are a 420 friendly place and have a beautiful sitting area ion the property with a beautiful view of the desert and stars. Patricia the manager was amazing and personable. I felt like family there. Because the place is so small, we often swam with no other guests. It was definitely a quiet and pleasant getaway, none of the ruckus of the bigger resorts. We will stay again.

Thank you Lisa. Great job hosting. She made sure we were comfortable through out our stay. She helped Sister book a late spa treatment. Although the spa treatment was great, the spa room was a little noisy from the AC unit. Also the fan in the dinning area next to spa room, was in need of replacement. Jacuzzi was not filtering first night, but repaired early the next day. We requested a late checkout (thank you John) to continue to enjoy Jacuzzi/pool a little longer! Doggie loved the dog spot in back patio. Look forward to going back.

Wonderfully enjoyable and relaxing at DHSI

We've been coming to "The Desert Hot Springs Inn, for 6 years. Formerly "The Dog Spa" in Desert Hot Springs. The new ownership at DHSI, were wonderful, gracious and helpful w/ any of our requests. Wonderful and relaxing mineral pool and jacuzzi. Beautifully appointed, desert zen decor, in our king bedroom / bath + kitchenette. Excellent kept grounds for our 2 Frenchie's to roam and for us to enjoy evening sunsets w/glass of wine or whatever beverage you choose. Modern gas fire pit to enjoy and relax by in the evening's if you want. And an outdoor gas grill you can use if you like for a Bbq dinner of your choice. We really enjoyed our stay at Desert Hot Springs Inn. And I would highly recommend to any, dog lover's, whom are well behaved and socialized dogs. FYI; I use my dog's as "therapy dog's " at my job, and they are both very socialized w/ people and children + other dogs.

Desert GEM! Loved that it was only a few units and everyone we met was very nice. Pool was great. Hot tub was great until it broke and lost heat but was still relaxing. Great distance to Joshua Tree, which is why we picked it. Lots of good food in the area. A few things could be improved to make it an EXCELLENT spot. - Shade for the pool. Not much but I think a little bit would go a long way! - Towels: the more, the better! I liked being able to get more pool towels, but also wanted additional ones in the room. - Put a mirror in the bedroom space. The bathroom is tiny and two people can't share the space. - Get better lamps. The switch was on the cord and there was no place to charge your phone on the nightstand. A lamp with the switch and an outlet on the base would be SUPER helpful. - Luggage racks needed. We had a 'water bug' visit and wanted to be able to elevate our stuff off the floor. We ended up using the ironing board and the side table. - Turn off some of the lights at night! We were hoping to see some stars but the outer lights were many and bright. Maybe have star-gazing hour(s)?

Call me old-fashioned but something about checking into a hotel at night with no human contact felt scary. Besides that, the room was very clean, neat and cold, not just in temperature but also atmosphere. Very stark. No art at all. Bare floor with two metal framed chairs for a sitting area. Small fridge provided with a handle that came right off in my hand. AC was really going strong. When I tried to adjust it, the remote on the wall fell out and landed on the floor. Luckily, that didn't break. Duct tape on the sides to make it fit into the holder, I guess? Bathroom soap was damp and the soap itself was a bit mushy. I assumed it had just gotten something dripped on it. Went ahead and used it thinking it was soap, after all. Was shocked to have an extra $100 tacked onto my prepaid hotel cost. Expedia promptly got to the bottom of it. They charge $100 for a deposit and return it if all is well. I got my refund in a few days. Still, a hotel room cleaning deposit???

No light switch to turn on upon entry to room. Bedside lamps were on extension cord. There was NO desk or table for belongings or computer. There was no place in bathroom for toiletries. Bathroom was very small/crowded - no place to hang clothes. Shower curtain did not fit tub, allowed water out.
