Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
Terrible experience overall. There was no email with check-in details or property information. Instead, I received a WhatsApp message asking me to send a wire transfer for an additional payment they called a “tourist tax.” I specifically chose Vrbo for the simplicity and security of booking and payment, but this property completely bypassed that process.I contacted the property manager through Vrbo and was told I needed to reach out to the property owner myself and coordinate this extra payment. I was on vacation and did not want to spend time figuring out how to find a bank and send money internationally — nor did I feel confident that this wasn’t a scam. The whole situation caused unnecessary stress, as I wasn’t sure if I would even have a place to stay.The apartment itself also disappointed: it is not soundproof (you can hear neighbors and street noise clearly), there’s a pipe in the bathroom that drips water all night (possibly connected to the air conditioner), and there was no WiFi. The network name and password provided simply did not work - it was not coming up at all amongst the other available networks. Both my husband and I attempted to get Wi-Fi multiple times throughout three days. I cannot recommend this property and would caution other travelers about the confusing payment process and lack of basic amenities (the soap jar on the bathroom was 1/3 full no shampoo or shower gel).
