Welcome to Calypso 1008 West

Our condo is a three bedroom two bath beach residence that sleeps up to 8 comfortably because all the rooms and the living area are quite large. You’ll find the balcony views of the world’s most beautiful beaches to be wonderful. We like to bring our binoculars along when we come so that we can enjoy our morning coffee while we watch the dolphins playing in the gulf. We’ve made sure that our condo is decorated for maximum comfort. We wanted to create the feel of home at the beach. We also wanted to make this a home away from home. For us and for our guests. Calypso is located right across from Pier Park so you can get to this shopping and entertainment mecca without getting in your car. Please note you will be required to pay $60 per vehicle to register your car, one bedroom units are allowed one car and 2/3 bedrooms are allowed 2.

-Master Bedroom has KING bed and a 36” FLAT SCREEN TV, and gulf view with balcony access
-Master Bath has a combination tub/shower and double vanity
-2nd bedroom has a QUEEN bed and a 36” TV
-The 2nd bath has a combination tub/shower
-The 3rd Bedroom is a Kid-Friendly BUNK Room has a twin bunk and a 19” TV
-There is wireless internet access throughout the residence
-There is washer/dryer conveniently located in the unit

We picked Calypso 1008 West because it is a well cared for building that offers great views and a great location with really nice amenities. We think you’ll agree that Calypso 1008 West can be your beach home away from home, where you and your family to enjoy a truly memorable beach vacation. The patio furniture was rusted and falling apart. The first day we were there and on the balcony, we noticed someone had been eating an orange and there was pulp and orange on the patio, no big deal. When we went to bed that night and pulled the blankets back on one side of the bed on the sheet with some more orange pulp and sand. Needless to say the bed lens had not been changed so we were washing all of the blankets and sheets the first night. Next morning we gather around the table and one of the chairs Had a leg that was falling off when you pulled the chair out from the table plus the cushions on the chairs were very stained. When coming from the balcony into the main bedroom, the door handle to the sliding door only had one screw holding it.We have stayed in other condos at the Calypso and they were very nice, but this one could use a little attention was very disappointed in the patio furniture and the lack of cleanliness in the Bedding

Very nice just needs some updates/fixes

The room was very nice and comfortable for my family. 5th time staying at the calypso and it never lets me down. However the room does need some work however, the outside door handle on the master bedroom to the balcony was broken, the chairs outside were dirty and one was broken.

Furnishings

The owner add property management company need to visit this unit and Update!! furniture and appliances! Old washer dryer- no heat in dryer- cabinets need restocks- only 4 cups for 12 people- etc. -someone took items home or threw out! Furniture on balcony old-used- broken-cracked kitchen floor tiles- - otherwise- view beautiful location beautiful! It was slightly inconvenient to get to room from parking garage- plan to walk!!

Beach va-cay

We had a group of 7 for a family get away. Me and my husband, my brother his wife and 3 kiddos. The condo was the perfect size and location. It had a few beach chairs and umbrella in the closet that we also got to use which was a perk, we expected to buy some once there. We had room to relax after long beach days and the kitchen had essentials for cooking. The condo has 2 pools, a bar and a small restaurant attached which was very convenient. My only complaint was the comfort of the beds. All of the beds could use new mattresses! Overall we had a great stay

Nice location

The stay was nice. It was my family’s first vacation to Panama City Beach and we enjoyed it. Loved how there are stores and restaurants close by and plenty to do. Pier Park is amazing. Prepare to wait for long times and possibly be stuck in elevator, but my family and I had a blast.

Nice view, great location on beach…

Not cleaned very good.. Had lot of issues.. The latches on balcony sliding fore was broken.. this was a big safety issue as we had little ones and they found this pretty quickly and we had to monitor this very closely.. The air conditioner did not work so room was 80 or more from day one… Beach equipment was dirty and still full of sand in closet, floor tile broken, door bell cover missing, sprinkler head covers were pulled out of wall, dryer didn’t work well.. We spent most of time trying to get management to respond to issues. They should have moved us due to all issues but didn’t happen.. We spent thousands to get there for a enjoyable time.. tried to find other accommodations on our own with out any luck.. We were given a small refund. We were ignored and still have no response from management.. We felt we should’ve Been moved and offered an extended stay in a condo without all the issues to make up for the inconvenience.. No response from management company really upsetting.. We did our part notifying of issues. We feel we should get a full refund.. spent lot of money for subpar results!!!

The HVAC unit was not working properly. It stayed 81 degrees. Called maintenance and I had to turn off breaker and wait 10 minutes. This worked for the first day only. Next 3 days was hot.

Great time at the beach

We always enjoy staying in the Calypso/Pier Park area. Walking to dinner, a short walk to the water, plenty of evening kids activities in Pier Park. Condo was clean, we have been coming at least once a year for 10 years but with kids travel sports this is our 3rd time in 3 months. This was one of the nicer 3 bedrooms we stayed in. Not too much furniture you can't move around, clean, simple and furnished. The only complaint and it is a well known complaint is getting into the parking garage. They now have a person posted at the garage gate which is a nice feature but the electronic system they use is a nuisance. I don't have access to a printer to print the parking pass in the condo and the barcode on the phone doesn't work all the time. They need a keypad to open it. The hours for the hotel bar are ridiculously short now as well. We use to enjoy getting a night cap there but that's not an option anymore as they close by 7. Overall its a great place to stay and this is one of the nicer units we have tried.

First time to PCB. Happy with resort, location was perfect, and the condo was nice. Happy to say no issues with elevators, as I had read with other resorts. Condo was perfect for our large group. The floors, however, were very dirty and the washer/dryer needs replaced. The dryer would not dry clothes without running several times. Only other complaint would be the security staff at the Calypso Resort. They were very rude when trying to load and unload your vehicle. Vacationers do not want to start their vacation, after spending thousands of dollars on a room and a long drive, with someone being rude because it takes you a while to unload.

Dirty and needs serious updating

Chairs on balcony were completely torn and couldn't be used. Walked around barefoot after check in and bottom of feet were black. Not cleaned well at well. All furnishings need to be thrown away and completely updated. The arm of the couch is a dirty black color from so much wear and made me feel uncomfortable sitting on furniture. Fridge took 15 hours to make room temp drinks cold enough to drink. Top bunk was not advertised this way but only would hold up to 100lbs. We've stayed at Calypso plenty of times and is great resort and location. Unfortunately, this condo is in dire need of updating or we would never stay at this one again.

Location is our favorite

We love the Calypso. This place was dated, but I didn’t care. We never used the dishwasher, I washed by hand. View is amazing. Our bed slept fine, best night’s sleep I’ve had in a while. When you are reading negative reviews on this place, please remember properties may be dated but it doesn’t make them bad. It was very clean upon arrival, we had actually gotten an email/text that the property was ready for an early check in. The dryer took a little longer to dry than my own at home, once again it’s dated. We love the location, a short walk to shops, restaurants, and the pier. We would stay here again, the property owners were easy to work with before our arrival, we never had to contact them during our stay.
