Fall on Lake Superior | 200ft Private Beach
- Summary:
Two hundred feet of private Lake Superior shoreline that belongs entirely to your group. Fall is the season the beach really becomes yours: the color peaks around October 5 to 20, Tahquamenon Falls runs amber 20 minutes south, and the freighters keep crossing toward Whitefish Point. Two-story natural stone fireplace, game loft with shuffleboard and a vintage arcade console, three full bathrooms. 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10. Summer books a year out. Fall is still open.
The Space:
Two hundred feet of private Lake Superior shoreline that belongs entirely to your group. A two-story natural stone fireplace, a game loft with shuffleboard, a vintage arcade console, and a poker table, and three full bathrooms. 4 bedrooms, sleeps 10.
Summer at The Bear Den books a year in advance. Fall is when you can actually get in, and it might be the better trip. Peak color in the eastern UP runs roughly October 5 through 20. Tahquamenon Falls is 20 minutes south on M-123, amber water through gold hardwoods, and it is the photograph everyone in Michigan has seen. Whitefish Point is 8 minutes north, running one of North America's best fall bird migrations.
On the beach, the freighters still cross toward the Point in the afternoon light. Dark comes at 6:45 instead of 9:30, which means Yooperlite hunting with a UV flashlight along 200 feet of shoreline is an after-dinner activity, not a midnight one. Aurora activity climbs around the equinox. And when the November gales come up on Superior, there is no better place to watch from than behind glass with a fire going.
4 bedrooms, sleeps 10. Built for families and groups who want the full UP experience in every season.
WHY GUESTS LOVE IT — FALL
🏖️ 200 feet of private Lake Superior beach, all to yourselves — and in fall you won't see another person on it
💧 Tahquamenon Falls at peak color, 20 minutes south on M-123 — amber water through gold hardwoods, roughly October 5 to 20
🌌 Dark by 6:45 — Yooperlite hunting with a UV flashlight along your own shoreline becomes an after-dinner thing, with aurora season climbing around the equinox
🦅 Whitefish Point Bird Observatory, 8 minutes north — fall raptor and waterbird migration through one of North America's premier sites
🌊 November gales on the big lake — storm watching on Superior from behind glass with the two-story stone fireplace going
🎯 Game loft for the nights the wind comes up — shuffleboard, vintage arcade console, poker table, and board games
LOOKING AHEAD — WINTER
Michigan state snowmobile trails open December 1, and Paradise sits in the snowiest corner of the state
Free parking for 3 trucks and trailers — ORVs, snowmobile trailers, and gear all fit comfortably
Two-story stone wood-burning fireplace, a finished lower level, and three full bathrooms make this a real winter house for a big group
Summer at The Bear Den books up well in advance; most groups reserve their week a year ahead. If you don't see summer dates available, message us and we'll let you know the moment next season opens.
