AVOID! GHOSTED by HOST!

I made this reservation about 25 days before my stay.Got a confirmation from VRBO. Texted the host (CheckMyGuest) after I paid-through the VRBO site. No reponse.Texted again the weekend before.No response. Increasingly panicked texts got NO response. Eventually had to call VRBO who also got NO response-the night before our train left for Paris.There were 5 of us - which meant that this reservation was not going to be easy. I was on the phone with VRBO for about 1 hour between all the hold times which cost me about 50 in phone charges.Finally got a different emergency stay altogether.NEVER use this host!

DON’T BOOK THIS APARTMENT. The owner uses a 3rd party host who denied having any booking from us despite having paid in full and having a VRBO booking number. We were left stranded late at night in Paris with our elderly parents. We had to find another 2 bedroom apartment accessible for my parents with reduced mobility- practically impossible last minute. At this time we still haven’t had any information or acknowledgment back from “checkmyguest” despite sending emails and texts through their site. We did get an email the night before we were due to “check out” with instructions on the check out process!! What a joke…. We never got any check in details because they said we didn’t have a booking. VRBO has enacted the relocation policy which will help pay for some of the extra cost of the apartment we eventually stayed in but ultimately this was the most stressful and expensive holiday disaster that we have ever faced. The many months of planning our 5 days in Paris were all for nothing as we had to stay in a totally different arrondissement and navigate an area we had not researched. We will also have try and recover our money to the owner through our credit card company- another stressful process when we get home. A huge warning to anyone using “Checkmyguest” as a third party host for their apartment or any customer choosing a place managed by “Checkmyguest”. I wonder if we will ever find out the reason for being stranded on the day of check in.
