Communication with the owner was challenging. He referred us to his concierge who was initially helpful but ultimately abrasive and confrontational. The property location is fantastic. Place de Vosges is a wonderful, family friendly square that is constantly filled with locals. The property is close to the metro and train station (to Versailles). We walked to all the major attractions and local neighborhoods but we like to walk. The property itself was an utter disappointment. Initially, ownership was nice enough to let us check in early but the property had not been cleaned. After cleaning, the left very few supplies (soap, towels) for the four of us and I had to ask for additional supplies to be brought. The concierge argued that the supplies were suffiicnt (one towel per person for the week with no washcloths, handtowels, etc). The biggest problem, however, was the shower. We stayed seven nights and I NEVER had a hot shower. The concierge had a technician come out to try to fix the hot water, which he could not. The concierge then tried to argue that the technician had fixed the problem. On top of that, the shower smelled of mold. And there is only one shower in the property. We chose to suffer through these inconveniences (and possible health risks) because VRBO provided no assistance and we didn't want to disrupt our vacation more than it had already been.

Disappointing!

Received no instructions on how to gain entrance to apartment. Property manager responded to neither VRBO message nor voice messages. Gratefully, a kind neighbor took pity on our party of five on the curb and tracked down the cell phone number of the property manager. Only then did we gain access. We found NO bathroom towels, hand towels or kitchen towels. (we had to spend €65 for some). That night we found 6 towels in a garbage bag on an outside window sill. Incredibly unsettling to arrive in a large city forlornly waiting for over an hour on a sidewalk…

Beyond terrible!

It was impossible to get in touch with the manager. The apartment wasn’t cleaned. The refrigerator smelled and the freezer was a block of ice! The pictures were also deceiving! It was also impossible to get into apartment… extremely difficult! Even the person who lived there who kindly helped us get in said she had difficulty getting in! The whole experience was a nightmare!!! I couldn’t possibly stay in the stay in the apartment! Thank god for American Express!

Spectacular Location and Ambiance

This apartment is located on historic Place des Voges, next to lively café Hugo, and across the street from Brigat, a world class patisserie. The place is full of historic features, with beautiful beamed ceilings and stone arches and walls preserved throughout. The layout is on three half-levels. Views in the living room are to the courtyard through grand windows, but bedrooms have only borrowed light. If you need more than one set of keys, insist before you leave. It took several days for the owner to get us a second set once we arrived.

I took my kids (20's) to Paris for the first time in August and wanted them to have a real Paris experience - to be immersed in the culture of Paris. This was a wonderful and unique apartment that fit our needs perfectly. The 4 floor layout gave me and my kids privacy and space that they are accustomed to as they now live on their own. All the amenities that were listed were provided and more. Given the summer heat wave, we brought our own fans, but they had large stand up fans provided also. (Note - the basement fan did not work, but being in a sub-level area was ok with their own small USB fans). The apartment was always comfortable for us despite the heat wave. There is no direct sunlight and we left if locked up of course during the day for safety, and that kept the cooler air from the evening inside. I was a huge fan of the large tub! Four of us were showering and always had plenty of hot water - though we intentionally took many COOL showers! The location is tremendous. The square itself is beautiful and their are places to dine within the square - including a great cafe 2 feet to the left of your apartment complex entry. Metro choices were nearby, but all of Marais was right out your door. Every night we wandered Marais and came across amazing ambience and dining. Management was wonderful, cooperative and helpful. They answered emails right away and worked with us on arrival and departure. This is a must stay apartment!!! Thank you for the experience!

NEVER AGAIN

Great location but they knew the shower was not working and all four of us over 55 yo could not shower the entire time. We complained and no response. This after a late entry, which we would have forgiven, Evidence that they knew the shower was not working prior to our entry. One key crap. Worst vacation smelling like we left LA for days when we were supposed to be there for a special occasion. AND I gave them every opportunity to fix or rectify. No messages. No ownership. Just crap!

Travel back in time Place des Vosges

Location is superlative, making up for a few shortfalls like only one set of keys which makes returning at separate times impossible and less-than-ideal bathrooms. I would stay here again just because of its location on the beautiful square
