This brand new Residence has been built on the site of the famous quarry that once supplied the black marble used in the construction of the amazing Duomo in Milan.

This well designed and contemporary apartment offers generous living accommodation, perfect for a couple and offers the most stunning panoramic views imaginable over Varenna & Lake Como which can only be described as SPECTACULAR!

The extra-ordinarily large living room windows & vaulted wooden ceilings allow the sun to flood into the lavish yet cosy living space where you can wine & dine from the kitchen area, spilling out onto the balcony from where you won’t be able to prise yourself away!

The double bedroom is stylish and very comfortable and the brand new Bathroom suite also exudes a contemporary and tasteful style, making this property ideal for a romantic getaway!

Varenna is one of the most picturesque towns on the lake, its steep winding alleys lined with charming homes, flowering balconies and lace-curtained windows. Just above it is the ancient Castle of Vezio where Theodolinda, Queen of the Lombards, is said to have died in the 7th century. Two famed villas to visit here are Villa Cipressi, with terraced gardens cascading right down to the shores, and Villa Monastero, a true showcase.

A distinctive feature of Varenna is it\'s mild climate; olive & cypress trees abound as well as many other variety\'s of lush, tropical plants, typical if the lake. Varenna enjoys abundant sunshine & warmth right into the evening.

This old fishing village has several very interesting shops; from local butchers to craft shops and bars, as well as many restaurants ranging from simple but fabulous pizzerias and trattorias, to elegant dining experiences with lake views. Varenna offers excellent rail links to Milan & Venice! Plus there are ferry links to all the gorgeous villages & towns along Lake Como\'s shores; it makes a great base for exploring the area.

Skiing in the area is bountiful with resorts such as Madesimo 1.15 hours to the north and the local ski resorts of Piani di Bobbio & Pien della Betulla are only 40 - 50 minutes away. And for an exciting day trip any time of year, why not go on the beautiful drive, through the Alps, to the international jet-set resort of St. Moritz, only 1.5 hours by car.

Der Blick aus der Wohnung ist einmalig. Die Wohnung selbst war nicht sehr sauber. Überall an der Decke und an den Fenstern hingen dicke Spinnweben. Da es schon Oktober und die Nächte nicht mehr so warm waren, hätten wir wärmeres Bettzeug benötigt. Es gab aber nur das übliche dünne Laken mit einer bunten Tagesdecke, die man darüber legen konnte. Im Schrank war ein fleckiges Daunenbett, für das es aber keinen Bezug gab. Kaffeemaschine leider defekt, zum Glück haben wir aber gern den italienischen Kaffeebereiter benutzt. Flaschenöffner ebenfalls defekt. Der Fernseher von der Größe eines PC Monitores hatte kein Signal zur Antenne. Der ganze Kabelsalat lag offen herum. Staubsauger noch nie geleert. Die Gastherme, die sich im Wohnraum befindet, hat die ganze Zeit gebrummt, manchmal wurde das Brummen sehr laut und dann wieder leiser. Dieses auch nachts und wenn man kein warmes Wasser bezogen hat. Ansonsten eine schöne und ruhige Anlage.

Incredible views!

Wonderful stay! Home was clean and well presented. Their was heavy rain expected so they allowed us to check in early, very grateful. Despite the heavy rain, being in that location and lovely home was great. Highly recommend.

The view from the property was breathtaking and the complex itself was very nice and well organized. We were disappointed with the cleanliness however. There qere spider webs in the bathroom the duvet for the bedding had stains on it and there were fingerprints on the cupboards.

NOT a one bedroom

This is NOT a one bedroom apartment but a studio apartment utilizing a flimsy paper accordion divider to create a bedroom space, which unfortunately blocks the view of Lake Como. We repositioned the divider closer to the bed to increase living space and improve the breathtaking lake view. The balcony offers a delightful perspective of Lake Como, including views of Menaggio and Bellagio in the distance. Please be aware that the pool is located uphill and behind another building.

Lovely Varenna

This nice apartment had a beautiful view overlooking Varenna and Lake Como. It was all as it was advertised. We received a welcome box from the property manager with wine and goodies. Very much appreciated. It would have been nice to have a little dish soap in the apartment as several of the utensils hanging over the stove top still had food on them and need washing. But overall we loved the apartment and would recommend it.

Unbelievable view

This place was beautiful! The directions and check in instructions could not have been easier. The location is easy and very quick to the ferry that will take you all over the lake. Host was very easy to communicate with.

Fantastic view

Fantastic view. A good work out going up the hill after having dinner in town. Would recommend getting rid of the large white accordion apparatus which is a room separated, as it takes away from the room space and view. Front door lock can sometimes be finicky.

Spectacular View but...

The view is an 11. Unfortunately, very consistent with past reviews we had issues with cleanliness and some very fixable things...like leaving accurate WiFi login info. The wall partition deal is a disaster, was piled in a corner. Place is poorly decorated...not even as nice as picture. Not a criticism but hard to find at night and you have to have a car. We enjoyed our stay but some small issues are holding this place from its potential.

Beautiful apartment high above Lake Como. Hiking and scenery are fantastic. Upon arrival there was a maintenance problem which the Property Management fixed immediately when we phoned. Ideal for guests willing to hike or who have a car.

You’re paying for the view

Check-in would have been a breeze if the keys were in the lockbox. We ended up sitting on the apartment steps for 1 hour & 45 minutes waiting for someone from the property management company to deliver the keys. When he arrived, he opened the door & gave a simple “Sorry” and walked away; no compensation for our lost time. Upon entering, there were electrical cords strewn across the floor, cobwebs in the corner & bugs in the bathroom. A cheap accordion paper divider with nonfunctional LED lights separated the couch & the bed, which fell over every time the wind blew. Another light fixture above the exterior entrance door was hanging by its wire. Just poor design/functionality layout & worse property management. The view from the balcony was incredible!

Die moderne FeWo hat eine fantastische Lager mit wunderbaren Ausblick. Die Anfahrt und der Zugang ist sehr einfach und entspricht der erhaltenen Beschreibung. Kleinere Verbesserungen: Keine Kaffeemaschine oder Filter, nur Aufkocher. WLAN nicht verfügbar - mussten das schwache Signal vom Nachbarappartment nehmen. Waschtisch sehr niedrig, Betten relativ hart und ohne Schonbezug, Abstellraum ohne Regal (fliegt alles umher), TV winzig... Dennoch, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt - sogar bei dem ein oder anderen nächtlichen Unwettern.

Lieu magique mais service en cas de problème déplorable

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés, le chauffage était allumé au maximum,j'ai essayé de joindre le service le 24 / 24 sans résultat, après maintes tentatives auprès des différents numéros de téléphone figurant sur le contrat, mon interlocuteur n'a pas daigné me renseigner précisément , je me suis débrouillé par moi même concernant la coupure du chauffage et la mise en route de la climatisation ( mon interlocuteur m'affirmant par ailleurs qu'il n'y avait pas de climatisation dans l'appartement loué !!!!! Service nul si vous avez un problème surtout en arrivant un dimanche , il n'y a personne, Par contre le lieu est agréable bien situé PS la piscine n'est pas ouverte toute la journée !!!! Ce n'était pas précisé dans le contrat

Stunning View - but you'll need a car

We stayed 5 nights in September. The complex is fairly new and perched on the side of a mountain looking down towards Varenna. The views from the balcony of the unit are breathtaking. Nothing but mountains and lake. The trade off was that we didn't have a rental car and we had difficulty getting taxis to get up and down to the complex. Once it took us 1.5 hrs to get a taxi to take us back up after dinner. The path down the mountain is walkable going down, if it's not too wet. It is steep and has cobbled rocks which get slippery when wet. We saw some people walking up in hiking boots, but we were not dressed appropriately. But it was dark by 7:30pm and there is no way we could walk up in the dark after dinner. We found a great new restaurant near the bottom of the hill Veranda Dei Pescatore. We liked it so much we ate there twice, since they had a shuttle to take us up and down from the complex. Food and service were fantastic. As far as the unit, it was comfortable, but had not been thoroughly cleaned. Dust and cobwebs. But bathroom and kitchen were well equipped and bed was fairly comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the unit since we spent our days exploring Varenna and the rest of the towns on the lake. If you have a rental car and some bravery with the narrow switchback laneways going up and down, you should be fine.

Vista D’Oro Palma, Apt 21 - July 2019

We had a wonderful stay at the apartment. The views were amazing. The bed was comfortable. The location was perfect for us. However, there were a few negatives. Firstly, there were numerous spiders webs in all the different areas of the apartment, the amount of dust under the bed was shocking. The lever on the sink in the bathroom was broken. The concertina room dividers are past their sell by date. They are dirty and dusty. Wooden room dividers would be much better. The TV was extremely small. The seats on the balcony were uncomfortable. These negatives are things that could be fixed quite easily. Then the property would be 10 out of 10.
