"The Scotia Lodge was a charming and fun place to stay. It's an older hotel that dates back several decades, but you can tell that a lot of work has been put into updating and maintaining the building, the rooms and the grounds. The location is great too: only a short drive to the Avenue of the Giants and Humboldt State Park in one direction, and Fortuna in the other with Eureka only a short drive further. The staff were very helpful to us, too, in helping store my mountain bike overnight so that I could rest easy, knowing it was secure. Staff were unfailingly friendly."

"Excellent location in Ferndale, I could have spent the whole time watching the town. The listing had every amenity you would need, from cooking to laundry, and is absolutely gorgeously furnished. One thing I wish I knew heading in to the stay is that there is a theater (play acting not film) just two buildings down, and next time I will definitely catch a show. One thing to note - the hot water takes a minute or two, Not a concern or complaint, but just be prepared to wait almost a full minute for the shower to heat up - it's a historic building lol!"
