Lamie's Inn and The Old Salt Restaurant
10/10 Excellent
"The staff at both the inn & the restaurant were extremely friendly & helpful. It is an old, historic building which is what makes it charming but a few modern amenities could use updating, the fan in the window air conditioner barely blew the cold air out making for a semi-uncomfortable sleep after a hot day in the sun. The ice machine was broken, we understand these things happen. The room door locks were sticking, making it tricky to open. All of these things are easy fixes & would not stop us from staying here again. We would definitely stay again with the anticipation that these minor issues would be corrected before then. On Sundays the continental breakfast ends early (before their brunch). They move any leftover food into the lobby when it ends. I've never seen any other inn/hotel do this. Such a simple gesture that made a huge difference before check-out. Overall it was a lovely stay! Special shout out to the staff at the front desk!"

"Can't beat the location. Close enough to the main drag that you can walk there in 10 minutes but not so close enough that it bothers you all night long. Across the street from the beach with parking for 1 vehicle (parking seems to come at a premium in Hampton). Room was decent, beds had completely different mattress styles (one was pretty hard and the other was much softer). The shower in our room needs major attention, lots of mildew on the shower curtain which is a super easy fix. It needs to be cleaned and re-caulked. Kitchenette is useful if you're going to stay for any length of time, we were only on an overnight. Mini split AC in the room kept the temp good even though it was really hot out. Overall, would come back again."

"We had an amazing stay at the Turquoise Cottage in Hampton! The house was even better than the listing described. It was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had plenty of room for our family.The indoor heated pool was the highlight of our trip—it was perfect no matter the weather. We also loved relaxing in the hot tub.The location couldn't have been better. North Beach was just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy the ocean without worrying about parking. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the multiple living spaces gave everyone room to relax. Traveling with our dog was easy since the home is pet-friendly, and the fenced outdoor spaces made it even more enjoyable.Teresa was responsive, welcoming, and made check-in and check-out effortless. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation with outstanding amenities."

"Perfect as described! Best location in Rye NH to stay at beach. Host and Hostess could not be a nicer couple and it was a pleasure staying there. A/C was Ice cold and the house had everything we needed including beach chairs. The house is exactly as shown and we are a full crowd with multiple dogs in tow. The hosting couple could not have been more patient and helpful. We even needed to stay an xtra night and they were very accommodating. The house is exactly as it shows in photos which was great. Nice deck with grill, great yard and one of the top streets in Rye. Worth every dime. We would stay tgere again and recommend."

"A very sweet old inn. The magnolia room was very clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. I enjoyed the coffee station right outside the door and the bottled water in the min-fridge was a nice bonus. The shared bathroom was newly updated and very clean. The front porch rockers were lovely to sit and read. There is currently no food on site so bring your own or dine out- the owners provide a good book of suggestions. It’s an easy .6 mile walk to beautiful North Beach which is much less crowded than the main Hampton beach area. There is wifi on the property but cell service in this area is spotty. This place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet, simple-no frills place close to the beach."

"We had a spectacular visit in July with our extended family. It was the perfect place to hold our family reunion of 24 people. The property had so much old charm with all the comforts of home and a wonderful location to just hang out, go to the beach or shop and eat in Portsmouth. We would not hesitate to do it again and we appreciated the care and communication provided by Chelsi."
Walk 2 Beach/peaceful/quiet Surfhouse Retreat

"This was our second stay at this property. We absolutely love the home and location. There are so many great extras that make it a heaven for boys and convenience for parents. It has everything you could possibly need. We were a bit disappointed this year that the downstairs bedroom no longer has a bunk bed. We were planning to put three 12-year olds in that room. Instead we took the twin mattress from the upstairs bedroom and put it on the floor. It worked out for us but might not have if we had brought more guests. The upstairs air conditioner had not been emptied so it stopped working. There were no provisions to empty it ourselves (like perhaps a hose or tray??) so my 20-year old held it up as high as he could so we could drain some water into a baking pan. It worked for a while but he wasn't able to hold it long enough to drain all the water, so in the morning it was off again. These are minor compared with all the positives. This year my kids were all about the tandem bike, skateboard and the proximity to Summer Sessions surf shop and store/cafe. We also made a reservation in advance to the Carriage House 2 blocks away and that made the trip for me. Amazing food and service!! We will be back to this property. It's clean and comfortable, spacious enough and the beds and linens are great."
