Don't recommend this place

Photos look way better than it is. Toilet bowl is inside the shower which is separated by a slat door into the doorm full of other people. Very uncomfortable. Locker didn't work. Staff at the information desk kept trying to get me on tuk tuks twice the normal price, they probably get comission.

This is the worst experience i ever had. i have been travelling for so many countries, checked in to so many hotels, guesthouse & hostel, i never expected that i would have to face this kind of bad traveling experience. checked in at this hostel for 3 nights with VIP room, but the room was not well maintained. no water. no lift and we have carry heavy bag to 4th floor by stairs. our 2nd night, after long day exploring the city, we back at our room, water was everywhere in the room due to heavy rain in the evening. our clothes, bags, all our belongings were damage. but the owner did not even take responsibility for what happened. they only changed the room the cheaper one, and that's it! they promised to take our wet cloth to laundry but nothing happen. they even refused to pay compensation to us for the damaged items as the condition happened is not caused by them. the staff was rude. the owner did not even come and apologies at all. very bad experiences and service provided. no even recommended.

Better value for money options available

We booked specifically because the restaurant served breakfast, but this is no longer the case. The night we planned to have dinner at the restaurant the chef decided not to open. We stayed on the 3rd floor up a really steep set of stairs. There was no water pressure, the shower a drizzle and the sink tap nothing. Really noisy with loud music until 4am each night.

Quite and relaxing

This hostel was nice and pleasant to stay. Staff was friendly and accommodating our needs. They also had happy hour for drinks and good ambience.

Auberge très bien située

L'auberge Aura Thematic est vraiment très bien située, juste derrière le palais royal, il est donc facile de visiter la ville à pied. Le personnel est accueillant et serviable. Les dortoirs sont assez exigus et celui dans lequel j'ai séjourné ne disposait d'aucune fenêtre (ce qui devient vite étouffant lorsque la clim ne marche pas). La litterie était confortable, tout était très propre (dortoir, salle de bains, lieux communs). L'auberge propose des petits déjeuners peu chers.

Not as Expedia described

We arrived to stay in our private room with shared bathroom to find we would also be sharing the bedroom with another couple. This is not how the room was described and I believe that we were not the only guests who booked the room believing it to be private as we heard several of them arguing with staff about the situation. Expedias' description online is EXTREMELY mis-leading but as they seem to have no way of complaining beyond filling out forms this is all I can do. There are no private rooms in this hostel.
