The internet barely worked and the cell signal was almost nonexistent, so even basic calls were tough. The property also feels much older than it appears in the photos. For a retreat home, we expected at least decent essentials like body wash and shampoo even the hand soap wasn’t usable. Honestly, we are still surprised this place has a 9.5 rating; it definitely misled us.Pros: Spacious enough for a large group, good location.Cons: Very old property, poor-quality essentials (body wash, shampoo, even hand soap), and extremely unreliable internet.

Family wedding in Scottsdale

We needed a place to hold our family and extended family for a wedding in Scottsdale. This estate is amazing if you love authentic architecture and beautiful outdoor spaces. The home goes on forever and has great gathering spaces as well as areas to get away from crowds. The pool is fantastic and the grounds are well kept and peaceful. LOVED OUR STAY!!

Group vacation

Property is in a peaceful neighborhood and was so much fun. Has a LOT of room to spread out and the guests all really enjoyed the stay. Has a really homey feel and a lot of great AZ charm. The outdoor space and pool were simply stellar. We will be coming back for another trip SOON.

Short stay with big rewards

18 close friends decided to get together prior to a conference in Phoenix. We needed a place where we would all fit and have enough room for private as well as group conversations. This place was PERFECT. Between the house and pool area it suited our needs perfectly. The management was responsive and checked in everyday. We will return to this Mecca in the desert.

Friends Get-Together Phoenix Adobe

This place is perfect for a large group. The facility is charming and just a wonderful place for gathering to enjoy good food and friends and relax. I recommend it highly. I would also like to recommend a caterer that I used for the group of 24 people. It is Viva La Vida Cuisine and Catering.

Amazing property and location

This property was perfect for our family holiday gathering. The pictures and description were accurate and Mark was a very engaged property manager. We had plenty of room to come together as a large family, and break out into the other living spaces for smaller gatherings. We had amazing meals at La Grande Orange, Ingo's, and Postino, which are all a short walk. If you want a unique, large property in central Phoenix this is it.

We are 11 guys and mates who graduated from H.S. 63 years ago. Since 2005, we have been meeting at various interesting places every two years. Places like Yosemite, Kiawha Island, Whistler, B.C., McCall, ID, Estes Park, etc. Our stay at Grand Adobe was memorable for the unique facility, and nearby attractions. The property was outstanding, clean, full of interesting art, antiques and was fun to explore...each room was different. One particular shout out to Mark, for helping us get familiar to the place at check-in. It was one more outstanding place for these old-timers to make memories in!

A real gem

This property is a gem. It is an old adobe hacienda in a lovely area of Phoenix that has been renovated, and still a bit of a work in progress. We loved the old time vibe of it, the thick adobe walls, the lovely outdoor spaces with many patios, grassy areas, fountains, and a great pool area. We had a large group of around 24 not including children under 2, so we filled it up. The only draw back for a large group like ours was that the dining room table only seats 8. There are was one Costco rectangular table (not in great shape) with some folding chairs, and a number of smaller, round tables outdoors. While this worked for our group thanksgiving dinner, it wasn’t really great. I think it would be a great upgrade if the property offered some way of seating 20 or so people for a meal somewhere, even outdoors, since the property is clearly intended to house that many. The kitchen was very well equipped with lots of tools, silverware, serving dishes, etc., so we were well pleased with that aspect. The only reason for my 4 star ratings in some categories is that the property still is in need of some upgrading in the interiors. But overall we were extremely happy with our experience, and felt the host support was exceptional. This is a one of a kind place and we loved being there.

The property was kind enough to let us have a small wedding ceremony there which made it easy for our out of town guests to stay with us and get ready and have the wedding/ reception all in the same area. We loved it so much and are already planning our trip back!

Adobe Hacienda Phoenix

The hacienda was a magical place to stay for our retreat. The smell of orange trees in blossom mixed with the sounds of water from the fountains it made the long days fun filled and a delight. Each of us had our own living/dining space which made it feel like a little bit of home away from home.

Family Getaway

We just spent a week at the Grand Adobe with our six adult children, their spouses, and our 8 grandchildren ages 11 months to 9 years. We especially enjoyed the pool, as there were ALWAYS shady spots throughout the day. We also enjoyed having spaces for our families with young children, so they could have nuclear family as well as extended family time. This was a perfect spot for us!

Blessed Birthday Weekend

Our entire family of 24 from 3 states convened at this property to celebrate our matriarch’s 80th birthday. She was overwhelmed and we all created wonderful memories. We used all the rooms, including the three extra beds, and had a wonderful time. My family loved the property inside and outside. The property owners promptly answered all our questions. Even when we had a small issue once on site, they sent the maintenance staff early the following morning and resolved the issue. We highly recommend you rent this property and create your own memories. Our only drawback is that our stay was too short in length.

Family Reunion at Grande Adobe

What a find! This place is great for large families (there were 17 of us!) The location is perfect; in a quiet, family friendly neighborhood minutes from everywhere. There's a lovely pocket park just around the corner with a playground that was perfect for our little folks (age range 7-2). The main house is perfect for gatherings and the casitas allow for some alone time for our families. This is a property with a past: it used to be a date palm plantation, built in 1922. She's a grande dame and she wears her 100+ years well. The grounds are well kept. The house itself is as comfortable as it is luxurious. A week long stay is not without glitches and the management team is prompt with a response when questions arise. Highly recommended!

Would Stay Again

Let me start by saying the property was beautiful. With it being over 100 years old, it started to show it's age but the vacation property rental staff were lovely. Got back to us super quickly with any issues we had. Otherwise, it was very comfortable to stay. Slept well. Would totally host a retreat there again. Worked well for our small number of 8. Plenty of sleeping arrangements with king, queen, and twin beds. I would totally recommend for extended families to stay at this property. There's multiple kitchens and plenty of seating areas. Quiet location. Truly loved it!
