“Die Casa Metato liegt oberhalb von Castiglione di Garfagnana, man hat einen fantastischen Blick auf das Tal und die umliegenden Berge. Das Haus selbst ist blitzsauber und mit allem, was man für die Selbstversorgung benötigt, ausgestattet. Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufmerksam. Gabriele hat uns über WhatsApp mit sehr guten Ausflugstipps versorgt und seine Eltern haben uns überaus freundlich begrüßt. “This stay was idyllic and everything that was promised. Privacy, serenity and beautiful surroundings. Loads to do in the area and off the beaten track enough to have a sanctuary from tourism. Susan was the hostess with the mostess. Always there for suggestions, but never intruding. Her family are quintessential Italian and we loved hearing her grandchildren calling each other across the garden, hearing the neigh of the horses and next doors donkey in the distance. “The pictures of the property and apartment speak for themselves. Angela and Simone keep this beautiful property meticulously maintained and very clean. They provided a great welcome package that included various kitchen staples (eggs/bread/OJ/fruit, etc...) which we put to good use. Center of town is a 12 minute walk from the apartment and day trips to Florence/Portofino/Cinque Terre are easy (about an hour away each). City of Lucca is 25 minutes away by car and a hidden gem of this region. ……

“Where to begin!? The photos in the listing simply do not do this property justice. It is a truly magical location and I highly recommend it. We rented the entire place, for 20 people, to celebrate a birthday and each family, couple or single had their own private space/apartment, while still being part of the whole. It's charming and had all the amenities. There are several nearby villages to grab dinner or groceries, and Lucca is only an hour away. It's a bit of a hike to the marble quarries,……

“Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in diesem Ferienhaus. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und alle Geräte funktionieren. Die Klimaanlage haben wir eigentlich gar nicht benötigt, da bei offenen Fenstern immer ein leichter Durchzug im Haus vorhanden war.Am Pool zirpten die Grillen und ab und an bellten die Hunde. Etwas anspruchsvoll ist lediglich der Transport schwerer Taschen zum Haus, da man doch einen Weg über Stufen zurücklegen muss. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub!”

“Relaxing, peaceful, remote location, which can be easily accessed from Pisa / Florence by car. Fantastic views across the valley. Hosts were great at communicating, before and during the stay. Would recommend for an older family that wants to get away from it all. ”
