Great location for hiking and winery

We loved having the sun room overlooking the mountains each morning. Nothing was too far of a drive and we had wonderful hikes within 20 minutes from the home. Would recommend!

Hidden Gem

This place was an awesome stay! They seemed to have thought of everything. Enough things to do inside the house and some cool mom and pop eats nearby. The place was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Highly recommend it!

Location and layout is good. Didn't realize that there was no A/C. Internet didn't work when we first got to the house, but it was corrected immediately. Made a request to extend our stay two additional days and it was no problem.

Nice home with beautiful views!

This home was clean and everything was provided to accommodate our stay. The beds were very comfortable. It took a few times to get use to using the remote controls to turn on/off fans and lights. The only advice I would give is to try to arrive before dark because the drive up to the house is dark but once you learn the road, traveling is no problem. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely Mountain Retreat

We wanted to spend spring break in the mountains to get outdoors and enjoy some peace and quiet, and this house provided all that we wanted. The sunroom provided a wonderful view, and we had fun looking at Grandfather Mountain through the telescope provided. The game room was a great distraction on the rainy days. The beds were super comfortable, and we all slept like babies. To get out, it was quick trips to get to Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, or wherever you want to go. Our dog loved looking out the sunroom window and walking the trail around the lake. We would definitely love to visit this home again.

Nice house

The house is very nice overall, and convenient location. The beds are comfortable. The pool table and ping pong table were fun for the kids. Not mentioned in the listing or photos is the small spiral staircase that is the only option to get to the downstairs which is where beds 3 and 4 are located unless you want to go outside and around the house each time. Bed 4 is a sleeper sofa next to the pool table. The only tv that works is located downstairs. The other tv’s are smart tv’s but are not and would not connect to the internet to be able to watch anything. When we arrived at the house we noticed none of the beds had any sheets and we were unable to locate any in the house. We called the 24hr support line and informed them of no sheets and was told they would have them to me shortly. After 3.5hrs and multiple calls and text and asking for a refund for the night they finally brought the sheets which was at almost 10pm. The local restaurants were great and had great food.

Not as expected; dark and dirty

The photos have all been greatly lightened for one, and have been taken with a wide angle lens. House is actually very dark except for screened in porch. Some things are missing like a mixing bowl, but mostly well stocked. The outside porch seems good, but in reality, it is not a comfortable area. There is also a heavy oak desk in the middle of the view. Makes no sense. Many light bulbs were also out. I couldn’t find any to replace. The downstairs “porch” was uninhabitable. Just had two dirty plastic chairs. You’d never want to sit or go out there. They failed to mention the spiral death staircase. You need to be very thin and very young to be able to go up and down these. The washer and dryer were down there so you had to go down there. The only other option was to go out the front door and walk around and down under the house to get there, which was fine, but this wasn’t disclosed in the listing. We called Vacasa management company three times in a week. No one ever called us back or fixed the problem. We lost water once, but everyone in Land Harbor did and it came back on soon. The toaster broke and it was never fixed, even though Vacasa said they’d bring us a new one. The worst part though was the filth. My feet were dark brown after just arriving and walking barefoot in the floors for about 45 minutes. The bathmats were disgusting and had long hairs attached on the edges. We had to clean off the tables and Windex the glass tables and sweep the floors.
