“The hotel was great. The staff are so unbelievably helpful and lovely. Whoever the owner is should do all they can to keep the staff they have, they are nothing short of fantastic. Breakfast was good and we ate dinner once too and we were really happy. The location is great, not too far from town but far enough to be peaceful and quiet. We also appreciated the free shuttle in the evening to town. We walked back twice but it was also easy to get a Didi taxi. Highly recommend this place.”

"We have mixed views on this Banyan Tree Property. Firstly the service was quite frosty and not as attentive as it could have been, I know there was a language barrier, but it doesn’t account for everything. Please note I would not put our butler in this category - Teresa was absolutely fantastic and a testament to the hotel. Nothing was too much effort for her and she made our stay very enjoyable. Secondly, the breakfast was very average in terms of quality of food and service. I would expect much better from a five star property. Finally, there was a terrible paint fumes smell at the swimming pool on the final day of our stay. Other guests also commented on this."

"We loved this hotel. It is situated next to the ancient town of Xingping and you need to get a small ferry across the river to get to it if you come from Yangshuo Railway Station. However, it’s worth the little extra effort as it feels like a getaway quiet retreat from the busy streets of the town. There are many outdoor activities around the hotel that can be scheduled. The owner is amazing and nothing is too much effort for her to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The hotel also helps with transportation to and from the hotel and for some activities. The feel is more akin to staying in someone’s home rather than a hotel. The rooms and spacious and comfortable and the dinner food is delicious. The breakfast is simple but tasty, especially the local noodle soup. Definitely a special place."

There is no need for sightseeing trips, as staying indoors offers a complete premium relaxing vacation. The rooms are immaculately clean, quiet and tastefully decorated with elegant Eastern style. Equipped with soft bedding, great sound insulation and modern facilities, they deliver outstanding comfort and total privacy for a restful stay. The service is absolutely exceptional. The staff are warm, attentive and professional, providing thoughtful home-style hospitality all day long. They handle every detail perfectly without being intrusive, bringing a cozy homely vibe that attracts countless global travelers. The rooftop terrace is the biggest highlight, offering breathtaking panoramic mountain views. It is an ideal quiet spot to enjoy mountain breezes, peaceful forest sounds and stunning sunrise and sunset scenery, far away from crowds and noise. The dining experience is delightful with fresh local ingredients and healthy light flavors. The starry night view is incredibly gorgeous with no urban light pollution. Overall, this is one of the best mountain getaways. Amazing views, cozy rooms and perfect service make it totally worth booking. Strongly recommend!"

"Really enjoyed this hotel. The room was big, clean, and came with a massage chair plus a great mountain view. Breakfast was mainly Chinese themed with limited options but totally fine. It’s not right in town, but getting a Didi (Uber equivalent) anywhere in Yangshuo is quick and easy. The place has lots of fun extras like kids’ play area, small animal corner, as well cat fishes and koi fishes, you can feed, and a rooftop pool that is specifically for photos. They offer a one-time complimentary photoshoot with costumes if you want, the photographer, Xiaowei, was amazing, it rained during our shoot and he offered to shoot again for free once the weather was better. There is a ground floor swimming pool which is more for kids to paddle bamboo raft than actual swimming, so just manage expectations. Also there are a lot of mosquitos to bring mosquito repellent. What truly makes the stay special is the staff. They’re warm, proactive, super helpful with planning and translations, and always checking in to make sure you’re sorted. Interacted a lot with Miss He and Miss Lin at the front desk and they were superstars but all the hotel staff we interacted with were superstars. Honestly, they’re the reason it feels like a 10/10 stay."

"The location is absolutely perfect. You are right on the Li River, and it's an easy walk to both the wharf and the bustling West Street, yet the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful. The facilities were clean and modern, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. (It would be absolutely perfect if they added a coffee machine to the breakfast area, but this was a minor thing in an otherwise wonderful stay.)"
