「We were looking for a traditional Chinese courtyard guesthouse so we booked this place. It was perfect for us. Great location in the centre of the old town and friendly, English speaking staff. You could walk to all the main sights. Room was very pretty and traditional. Had a brand new wet-room shower which was a bonus. Traditional bed was firm but comfortable. Toiletries provided. All in all a great stay and value. A lovely base for our time in Pingyao.」

「We got here via overnight sleeper train from Xi'an. This hotel has an outdoor courtyard typical of the ancient homes, with charming decor. The hotel restaurant was good, as were some others nearby. It is located on a main shopping street, not far from the South and Central towers/gates. We couldn't stop buying souvenirs! Aside from shopping there are several historical sites within walking distance, all on the cny130 tour ticket, but they do begin to look similar after seeing several. The owner...
