Overall great stay. Manager was very sociable. Room was very clean. We really liked the vibe. Breakfast assortment was great. Two things to consider: no TV in the room and although dedicated per room the bathroom was across the hall. If you're ok with those two things this is a brilliant place to stay!

The hotel was refreshingly unique. The Great Room was very inviting. It was spotless and very quiet. Parking was a breeze. The breakfast options were plentiful and healthy. Coffee was good. Our morning conversation with the owner was very enjoyable especially when Peabody, their adorable dog, was allowed to join us. Would stay again.

This place is a real gem. The building itself is enough to talk about with the beautiful woodwork. The owners were kind and fun to talk to, as well as all the guests in the great room every morning. The world needs more places like this, authentic, warm, and a place to connect with others. If I’m ever back in the area I’m 100% staying here.

Like a hostel but not at hostel prices. Old, outdated. Run down. Not a quaint old home. It’s seen finer days. Smelled musty and old. Zero amenities. No shampoo or body wash. No hair dryer, worn out towels. Like going to your old aunt’s run down house.

Very different hotel. I felt like I was staying in an 1860's western hotel. Room was small and private bathroom was down the hall. However this place was great, very clean, owner met us in morning when leaving ( great guy). Street parking was a little nervous because of the location but had no problems, at least it was free to park on street. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would do it again.

Lovely place. Easy to park on the street, and easy access to downtown Pittsburgh (we were in town for a concert). Private and secure bathroom is just down the hall from the Family Room. The room itself was nice and the common area was very cozy. Breakfast was good with lot of options. Would definitely stay again!

The Travelers Rest was a very cool respite for our trip to Pittsburgh. The remodel which had been done a few years prior kept the building’s beauty and unique character. Each room was styled with original artwork by local artists, which lends a beautiful aspect to each room and tempts you to explore each room in this hotel. If you are biking the GAP (Great Allegheny Passageway), a stay here is a MUST! The owners, MaryBeth and Paul, cater to bikers with complete bike storage and whatever else is needed for your biking trip. Marybeth and Paul are wonderful people with a love for history, art, the local neighborhood, and its people. Will definitely stay again! P.S. Be sure to check out the Westinghouse record player in the main lobby!

Travelers Rest IS NOT your traditional hotel. If you want the lavish amenities of a pool, gym, office, or a TV, this is not for you. If you're adventurous, plan on spending days out, or exploring all that Pittsburgh has to offer, Travelers Rest IS for you. Travelers Rest is a place that you can enjoy the common area, make new friends, sleep and restart the next day. Room and Bathroom were clean, management is beyond helpful. Free breakfast and only public street parking.

Travelers Rest is one of a kind! Impeccably clean, lovingly restored building. On-street parking right outside, well-lit at night. A boutique hotel that is part museum, part guest house, part well-curated library; amazing, working bicycle garage! One enters and feels at once welcomed and trusted. The common area includes a beautifully-decorated sitting room/breakfast room/shared kitchen/music room with a working piano and record player. When you the property, you have a name card and room keys with lanyard waiting inside. You feel immediately drawn to explore this unique place that provides an ideal combination of peaceful solitude and community. Remember to bring your bathrobe and slippers for your bathroom, which is unique to your sleeping room but just a few steps down the hall. The in-room white noise machine offers a variety of selections from waterfall to cityscape.
