The cottage was beautiful and so was the beach. We had a great 1 night stay.
Great cozy cabin in a beautiful hidden gem location. You will not be disappointed! We loved all of the homey touches which helped make our stay so lovely.
Wow we were so impressed at the marine themed decor and cuteness of the Beachcomber. It was definitely a sweet get away. The full sized fridge and layout of the place was very sweet. The water heater was very loud and the loft floors were quite creaky when we walked. Other wise, Rachel was very responsive when we asked for more lighting in the kitchen because the lift above was acting weird and not functioning. They said they were going to investigate it so that was great to hear. All in all it was great sweet place to stay. I loved the many sweet dwellings they had on the property to rent out all within a walk down to the beach. Thank you!
Came for just one night with a few friends and it was perfect for us to crash after exploring Olympic and wake up to the beautiful view and beach just a short walk away. The beds were very comfortable and it’s a small place but cozy. Management was very communicative.
This was a perfect getaway for four women friends! Close to Salt Creek and tidepooling. Beds and the sea breeze were great. Beachcomber cottage was so charming and well-appointed. The outside environs are a bit cluttered is only drawback. We will definitely be back!
Took my friends kids here and we loved it. The cottage itself is gorgeous, and while it is in a shared location I still felt it was private enough. We enjoyed soaking up the sun on the porch, playing basketball on the court, and sitting on the swing that overlooks the water. There is wifi but I recommend not using it and using this place as an opportunity to disconnect :) I would love to come back and try one of the cabins right on the coast!

Not as it appears
Too far away to enjoy anything. Very bad bug problem. Upstairs is a risk to get to - and not addressed.

Cozy
It is a cozy little house. The upstairs has a cute bedroom with a very steep stairway. No wifi service and the cell service is spotty for establishing a Verizon hotspot. The house is located in the middle of a campground and a bit expensive for what it is. I thought it would be closer to the water and a little more private than what it is. The owners are very nice and it is nicely located near the olympic park.

Beautiful location but overpriced for what it is
The property is smaller than listed and has very steep ladder/ stairs to loft. The kitchen was not stocked well. There was a single knife, dirty baking sheets, no bottle opener and no bbq on site which we were counting on. The smoke alarm went off twice when trying to cook bacon and burgers because there is no cooking vent. The back deck was the best part about the place with beautiful views of the water. The memory foam beds were good too. Our stay felt like a cross between camping and staying in a house and seemed overpriced for what it is.
I loved the cabin. It was just what I was looking for. A short walk to the beach, very nicely decorated, good beds, and more.
The only negative is the stairs of death to the loft. Calling them stairs is being generous. They are more like a ladder. It was tricky to get down them at night. My kids (8 & 10) had to back down them to be safe.
Which is a shame because overall the place was great. The decorations in the loft were great. (I seriously wonder how they got the bed up there.) We stayed two nights, and I would again.
Also, the hot water is a little fiddly. I was easiest to set the temperature on the hot water heater itself, rather than play with the hot and cold knobs in the shower. I just set it to 100 degrees and everyone had a great shower.
To be honest, I was worried that this place was going to be too small for the 3 of us, but we all loved it! The loft is well furnished and spacious with a wonderful view of the straits (and a very comfy bed!). As expected, the stairs were a bit of a challenge for my husband and myself, but we managed (even in the dark). The water heater takes a bit of getting used to, but we learned to make it work. The view from the deck is awesome, but the large French doors made it so we could enjoy the view even when it was raining.
In all the times I’ve rented in the PNW, this was the first time we had a gas range! The fridge was clean and big enough for all of our stuff.
We went bicycling at Lake Crescent one day and it was much closer than I thought it was. I recommend going out there either walking or biking. It’s just beautiful.
You will need to bring all of your own food, there was no pantry at all. We would definitely rent this place again, the Whisky Creek Campground also has a lot of cabins, tent camping and RV parking as well. Great place!

Lovely house- but not outside
The place is great. It's cute, has all the comfy beds and well stocked kitchen, comfortable lounge chairs and sofa. The shower was an adventure and read the instructions in the house for best operation! The climb to the room upstairs is VERY steep and VERY narrow. Outside the property was the hardest for me. Lot's of junk and workshop type stuff. It felt like I was in the middle of someone else's property. A big bus sat in the yard just above and a cluttered garage of tools, parts, a car basically in the front yard. Not a deal breaker, but for me it was off-putting and I felt a little deceived by the picture/description. Also by the hard sell to rate the place highly. Otherwise- it was good for the overnight.
Small camping/rv/cottages park. Quiet location on the shore of the straight. Everything you need for a quiet time without the distractions of your hectic life. Also fun to see the different ideas they have for small cottages and A-frame tent camping. Lucky enough to catch the weather right and had mostly sunny weather.
Good location to some of Olympic National Park activities.

Nice quaint cabin with a great view of the water. Rachael was super helpful.
We called ahead and our cabin was ready even though we were VERY late. The place was better than advertised, clean, and a few minutes walk to the beach. Will return and recommend to others!

Very nice
I would say the listing was overall accurate. The cabin was a little more rustic than I was hoping for. It had a very campground kind-of feel to it. There were RVs all around us which I have to say I probably wouldn't have booked the cabin if I'd known. It's a bit of a hike to the beach. And once you're there there are more tents and cabins. I thought it would be more private but also should have asked more questions.
The host did provide towels, washcloths, and there were pots, pans, plates, bowels, cups, utensils, a coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, also a gas fireplace for chilly Washington mornings.
Once on the beach, you can see right across the straight to the Canadian Mountains which is pretty cool. The town the cabin is located in is actually called Joyce, WA. It's a half hour drive to Port Angeles from there. But from the cabin, you're also a half hour drive to Lake Crescent which is without a doubt, the most beautiful Lake I've ever seen! You're 45 minutes from Dungeness nature preserve, about 1.5 hours from the Hoh rain forest (Hall of Mosses), 1.5 hours from Rialto Beach, and 2 hours from Kalaloch beach #4 which I though had the best tidal pools. These are all driving distances.
The Beachcomber cottage was so quaint and yet spacious and everything we were hoping for on our vacation. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The beds were comfortable, we had everything we needed to cook meals for ourselves (non-stick pan was a little less than non-stick but oh well), and we weren’t missing a thing.
The views! Oh my gosh the beach views were breathtaking! We could’ve stayed on the beach, taking it all in for hours but there was so much more to see!
We didn’t hear any other campers or vacationers aside from the resident crows and other birds.
I can’t express enough how pleased we were with this stay. We did the math but simply can’t afford to stay year round ;)
Cozy, quaint and grounding.... the perfect stop for a night or a week. Attentive to needs and wants all packaged up for you when you arrive. Stroll the property and find the extraordinary in the ordinary! Can’t wait to tell friends about your home (om). The sound of the singing toads or frogs were the appetizer to our dreams
I simply loved my overnight stay at the Beachcomber Cabin on Tim and Rachel's property. Check-in/out was super simple, although I didn't see the check-out instructions via email (do the dishes, towels in shower, etc) until after I left - I happened to do those things anyway, so it was ok!
The cabin itself was so cozy, well decorated and comfortable. The fireplace puts out great heat, the shower was hot and had enough pressure, and the beds were comfy. I loved hearing the ocean waves through one window and crickets through another at night! If I had stayed longer, I would have brought groceries to cook, etc - it was great to have the full fridge and gas stove for use. Coffee was available in the cabin, along with a few spices and various cookware and utensils.
It's a super short walk to the beach from the cabin; I loved the swing and Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the views. Cell phone service was spotty (just what I was hoping for!) and I felt truly able to relax during my overnight stay. I will definitely be back to the cabin and can't wait to stay longer.
