Forget the pictures, they just do not do this house or property justice because once you see it with your own eyes, you will literally shed a tear (I did!). The house is immaculate and the property is awe inspiring. I did not want to leave and we have started planning our next trip back here as soon as we can.
Fiona was the most gracious host and super helpful from the moment I reached out to inquire to the day we left. She even left us a beautiful welcome gift and a birthday present for me, which I love!!! We could not have asked for a better more comforting experience. Every amenity was there and then some! We intended to dine out a few times, but the kitchen equipment was so well stoked we ended up cooking every meal there. It was like something out of a dream but the reality was even better. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and everyone seemed to find their favorite spot, whether it was in the hammock, on the super comfortable outside furniture, in the pool looking at the sea or on the beach. The rooms were also spacious and the master suite was spectacular (there was an ocean view from the walk in closet!!)
It was hard to get us out of the house to enjoy the local area, but we did manage to get out a few times. While we were staying here we ventured into Port Douglas to enjoy the night life, shopping and a trip out to the reef for some snorkeling. We also got up to the Daintree Rainforest to do some hiking and really enjoyed the local beach. We rented a car so it was easy to get around during the day and we had no problems getting a taxi out or back when we went to Port Douglas in the evening.
We truly felt like we found a treasure and I can honestly say this house and the week we spent here was my favorite part of the entire trip. I am so grateful to have had this experience.
