Riverside tranquility
We stayed for three nights in May. We really enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and looking out over the Willamette River. The ducks, geese and other birds are numerous. The house had the basic supplies needed for cooking and enjoying our stay. I recommend having the early birds stay in the master bedroom since it shares the space with the kitchen and living room. Access to our events downtown was an easy 10 to 15 min drive along the river. We enjoyed hanging out in the hot tub along the shores of the river at night.

Absolutely gorgeous, words cannot describe
We had an absolutely fantastic time at this beautiful property. We loved using the kayaks and paddleboards - we even saw a sea lion from about 5 ft away! We were happy that Uber eats could deliver here and there were plenty of stores, grocers, and restaurants nearby, plus a bar walking distance. We had issues figuring out the TV and the owners were happy to walk us through the process. I encourage anyone visiting Portland to stay at this exact property in Milwaukie instead!!!!

Magic Place with unbelievable view!
I rented the house for Thanksgiving weekend with my brother and my two college-age kids who go to university in Oregon. Sarah was a most-gracious host, very friendly and available to answer any and all questions. The neighborhood is fantastic, with two large parks on either side and nice walking trails through the woods along the Willamette river. The view from the house is a 10+!! Highly receommended.

Not for seniors
Although the backyard and river are absolutely stunning… The house, however, is not. There is a long, very uneven step way down to the underground apartment which is located underneath the main home. There is a SLICK slope to get to the kitchen, And the smell of mildew under the sink is absolutely disgusting. The furniture is extremely uncomfortable. If you want to sleep here, this is not the place. You will hear constant walking and movement above your head when the owners are home. You will also smell their food cooking in your unit as well. This is not a VRBO for anyone over 50.

Thank you Edith for your compliments on the back yard and river. I am very sad about the rest of your review. It is not underground, and the furniture is very comfortable but many seniors say it is too soft, as you sink in and the elderly have a difficult time getting up. The listing says: "*Please note that this property is not recommended for elderly/handicapped folks who have difficulty walking as there are stairs to access the property and yard." You mentioned that you smelled horrific mildew from under the sink and so myself and several others came in to inspect immediately after you left and no one could smell anything nor figure out what on earth you were talking about. The space is immaculate. I have awesome cleaning people. I am saddened that you wrote this and sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.

Reed Graduation
My wife and I stayed at Sarah’s place for a week around the Reed College graduation. Great spot on the water in a nice neighborhood for walks etc - also convenient to Reed. Had a small BBQ in the gorgeous garden which was really great. Used the house as a base for graduation but also for exploring much of Oregon that week.

FILTHY AND DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING
The property was filthy, I have pictures of dirty drawers, filthy chairs and mold in closets and on shower curtains. The pictures of the property are deceiving and misleading. the "walkway" is actually a steep series of steps that were covered with chestnuts, not swept, dangerous and precarious to walk on. The property is advertised as a stand alone house, in fact it is a converted basement. with the owners living above in the actual house. The property is advertised as 3 bedrooms, in fact the one kingsize bed bed is IN THE LIVING ROOM. It is NOT a master-bedroom.The pictures make it look like a separate and contained bedroom it is not. Fraudulent misrepresentation. The other 2 bedrooms are tiny, and dirty. The kitchen is substandard. I was very displeased and was offered the "suite" upstairs at no added charge, that too was filthy with mold. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The location is lovely by the river. Everything else was bad.

It is not filthy or moldy, I cannot understand what you could possibly be referring to? I have a professional cleaning team, and they do a thorough, fantastic job. Chestnuts do fall every year for 2 weeks in the beginning of October, unfortunately the week you were here. I have a yard maintenance crew and they keep the yard up beautifully but are not here every day to clean up the chestnuts that fall from the neighboring tree. I am sorry you were not happy.

The back yard was AMAZING!. Kitchen was well stocked. The hostess lives on site and was very pleasant and responsive. We would definitely come back and stay again.

Heaven on Earth!
My husband and I have been renting vacation rentals for the last 15 years. I was a little hesitant to rent this one due to the owner was on the premises, because of a bad past experience. I couldn't of been more wrong. Sara was so great! The property is absolutely beautiful and serene. You don't even have to leave the property to find things to do. The whaler and dock, kayaks, bikes, paddle board, fishing, and the most beautiful views. Anything we wanted to do, Sara and Joe made it happen, but gave us complete privacy. Fabulous view and perfect location.
We had a great vacation and loved this spot. It’s a beautiful location, comfortable home, and Sara has lots of fun stuff available for those who want to play on the Lake. The location is just a short drive into Portland. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

My Magical Stay in willamette
My stay at this property was magical! Equipment was provided for water activities! The hot tub under a majestic weeping willow provided serenity and relaxation. The multiple seating areas were strategically placed for one to relax and enjoy the view of the river. Other seating areas for out door cooking is canvased from the sun by beautiful grapevines. At night the seating area surrounding the large fire pit made the night’s even more spectacular! The house offered all of the amenities of home. The beds are beautifully dressed with rich warm bedding’s. All the bed in the three bedrooms had really comfortable mattresses! I slept like a baby! The wood burning fireplace in my sleeping area was beautiful but i did not use it. I visit was in July. However, the days outside were very warm but inside the house stayed cool from the central air conditioning! The host was awesome. She was helpful, friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable of the area. I took early morning walks and made new friends in the neighborhood. I will return to Oregon and when I do, I will return back to this residence! I did not want to leave and could have stayed forever! Thank you!

Beautiful View
The grounds are beautiful and the host is very responsive. The two guest beds that we used were very soft, think memory foam. The kitchen had everything you need to make meals, but the knives were dull. So adding a knife sharpener would be a good addition, and we consolidated the pots to one shelf so we had a shelf to put out pantry items on because there is not any other storage in the kitchen available for guests. The washer/dryer worked perfectly. Four draw backs that prevent us from coming back were: the largest TV is in the smaller room with the smallest sofa/smaller TV in biggest room, the only air conditioning vent is in the kitchen so we had to run fans in the bedrooms at night to stay cool, the blinds needed to be closed during the afternoon (so no view) to keep the house cool), and the plastic shower curtains with the narrow hoop makes for a claustrophobic showering experience (the curtains are touching on both sides at all times). I recommend installing a larger hoop above the tub and using cloth curtains so they don’t cling to people and can be cleaned/bleached.

I appreciate your feedback. The large TV has a loveseat and two huge lounge chairs, not much different from the smaller TV setup, and it's how the furniture fits. The huge window blinds only need to be closed for a few hours on hot days when the late afternoon sun beats in the huge view windows... Other than that you have the gorgeous view at all times, and you can always go outside and enjoy the beautiful yard of course. The A/C works best when you keep windows closed, I noticed you left several open. I will look into changing the shower curtain setup, thank you for that advice.

Beautiful setting. Listing states 4 beds in 4 bedrooms with 2 1/2 baths for the listed price but read the fine print. Go there knowing that you will have 2 beds in 2 bedrooms and 1 bed in the living room and 1 1/2 baths.

Magical stay on the Willamette River
Such a great place for our family to gather. A perfect home base for our adventures in Oregon. Close enough to Portland but away from the bustle. Our family of 6 kids all fit and loved the stay. Felt very safe and secluded. Our kids loved the kayaks and hot tub and just walking along the river’s edge. Magnificent picture window view of the water and the lovely grounds. Could sit and stare at that view for hours. So nice to unplug in the little oasis she’s cultivated in the back yard. Sara was responsive and helpful. She even brought us a dozen eggs from her hens on the property. Would stay here any time we come back to the area.

Live the Dream
This was an excellent location for my family to get together while celebrating a graduation and an anniversary. The home is comfortable and provides the comforts of a home. The bedroom connected to the living room has a view of the Willamette River. The hot tub, kayaks, and beautiful grounds enhanced the experience. The privacy of the optional fourth bedroom is nice.

The property is incredible. Beautiful grounds lead to the banks of the river where visitors can launch the owner supplied paddle boards and kayaks. The views are amazing, the house is great and the location can't be beat. Paddle to downtown Portland if you are feeling ambitious. The stay and host far exceeded our expectations.

Dear Erin Ramsey, Of course I gave you a full refund immediately upon your texting me that you were not happy. My goal is to exceed customer expectations and in this case, your expectations were not met. You were not open to hearing any "excuses" so I just apologized and gave you a full refund. We had a power outage the night before due to stormy weather. I was out of town and had no idea until you complained and made your exit. The sheets and towels are all clean and new, but when someone is upset, everything is amplified negatively. My apologies.

Fun place to stay and enjoy the view. The property is eclectic with a nice layout for everyone to enjoy. This place worked well for our small group but we all wished the kitchen was a bit bigger. Overall, a cool place that we enjoyed for a few days in November.

Beautiful Property
The host was lovely and the property was beautiful. The only think I may suggest is making the guest more aware that you are living in the top part of the house, the guest in the bottom part. Which leads me to the unknowingly bed in the living area where guest pass by to use the kitchen. The beds were all horribly uncomfortable and the place smelled of cats/ or mold. I couldn’t put my finger on it. The towels smelled bad as well. So just some updating on the inside and the place would be perfect. Lovely area, located close to downtown. And like I stated before the property was amazing on the lake, we did enjoy the hot tub and the host made us a bonfire ok the last night.

We loved our stay at this beautiful property. The interior was nicely appointed with everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. But our favorite aspect was the grounds- sitting in a hot tub beneath a gorgeous weeping willow, morning coffee on the water's edge, evening firepit. We didnt use the SUP or kayaks because we were just so relaxed! We would definitely stay here again - it felt like we were at a river retreat!

Family Retreat
Location, location, location!! We gathered as a family of six adults to explore the Portland area. We were greeted with a beautiful property where we could come back and relax at the end of the day to enjoy the hot tub, fire pit and outside seating . We also had fun using the paddle board and kanaka on site. Sara, the owner had gotten them out and placed them by the River for us to use at our convenience. The fresh eggs she gave us was a tasty surprise. Thanks Sara, for a wonderful stay!

Relaxing and Great location.
Very relaxing home with beautiful views. Access to paddleboards and kayaks was a great bonus to allow us to enjoy the river and the state park (with great rocks to jump off of) right across the way. Quick access to city center to enjoy the culture and great food. 40 minutes to river rafting. Already miss being there.

Wonderful setting for a staycation while our house was being worked on. The grounds are beautiful, the river relaxing, and the inside was cozy and comfortable. Sara was the perfect host, and she is an excellent masseuse!

Stunning and peaceful view
We came to Portland to gather with family that we haven’t seen in a while, while mourning the loss of loved ones. This property provided us all we needed, a serene location for reflection, and a fantastic place to make new memories while with loved ones. Best vacation rest, relax and rejuvenate
Thank you Sara, For sharing your home, allowing us to check in early and having everything ready for 8 of us for our visit for 6 days. What a beautiful place. The view of the river is just stunning to look at everyday from am to pm. The sky and entire landscape was so breathtaking and we all enjoyed it so much. The hot tub, paddle board and kayak was used daily so thank you for having the extra items on property for all of us to use each day. Also, the home grown eggs were delicious. Beautiful property and amenities including barbecue area and hot tub were quite nice. Location on the river serene. Living space spacious but one bedroom without private access and was off the living area. Limited to one shower and second bathroom a tight fit with a rocky toilet but clean and functional. No mention that owner lives on the property

The description says that I live here in a completely separate area and that your area is totally private and completely your own including the deck and the huge beautiful yard and hot tub. I am not home often but am available if you need anything, just let me know. I completely stay out of my guests way and respect your privacy. Actually I think you were the party that said you weren't happy that I live there so I stayed at my boyfriends home during your entire stay. I care.

Beautiful Get Away
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The decorating touches through the house are lovely and the beds and furniture are very comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit and soaking in the hot tub while enjoying the view of the river and lovely gardens. There's a lovely walk through the park directly south of the property, or go right to walk along river paths. My dog was in heaven! The location is just perfect as you are close enough to enjoy the attractions in Portland, Oregon City and Lake Oswego. This place is a winner and I'd love to come back sometime during the warm summer months to kayak and fish. Highly recommend!

Overall Nice Place
The property was beautiful, very well maintained and the owner (I assume) Sara, was very kind and welcoming. She let us check in early since our flights landed earlier which was very kind. The property is basically a house that has been divided and Sara lives in the upstairs portion which made accessing her if needed very easy. The access to the Vrbo was not really handicapped friendly, not that we needed handicap access but I think it’s important to have that noted since it’s stairs down the side of the house. I was a little surprised to walk in to the unit and see a queen sized bed in the main living room, which we were not a huge fan of. There are two bedrooms and then the main living room is also the “3rd bedroom” which was weird. It made it difficult for mornings when you are the early riser and you have to wait until the living room sleepers are up to go do anything in the kitchen. The beds in the bedroom were ok, one was super soft and the other was like sleeping on a table it was so hard. The plumbing in the 1/2 bath is super loud so it would wake other sleepers up if you used it at night. I would say overall it was a really well taken care of property, probably wouldn’t have 6 of us there again because 4 people sharing a half bath and 6 people sharing one bath is not my style. But loved the location and the landscape was beautiful.

Love, love, love!!!!
The space is great! Perfect for a romantic getaway, family getaway and/or friends getaway! This is not my first time renting this property and it won’t be my last. This is a garden I need to see in all seasons. If you love playing on a river, or just sitting and watching the river this is a perfect place. My teenagers loved this weekend getaway and never complained of being bored. The owner is great, not intrusive at all, accepting, you ask for help and she is there! The property shared by the owner but you will never feel anyone else is there. It truly is a magical property, never hesitate to book your stay!

Riverside wine base!
We had an excellent stay at this property - easy access to vineyards and Portland. Host made our stay extremely convenient with ease of check in and check out. Coming from the big city, it was a special treat to wake up to hens clucking and geese honking! The views of life on the river were terrific and created memories we’ll remember for a long time

A hidden treasure
We booked this place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary , and invited my sister and her husband to come along with us. The house was comfortable, had all the amenities that we needed, plus a washer/dryer! On our last night, Sara gave us the most amazing massages ever. It was a lovely way to end our trip. We hope to be back soon:-)

Wonderful Week
We had an amazing week. I enjoyed waking up and drinking my tea while watching the birds on the river. The location is so convenient, we enjoyed walking to the farmer's market on Sunday and to the food trucks. Everyone enjoyed playing in the river. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect sunny get away
The property was perfect. We wanted a sunny, warm spot with swimming. The beautiful sloping garden led to a river beach. The little downtown area was within easy walking. The home was lovely and met all of our expectations. We would definitely stay again!

Best friends getaway
Two best friends getting away from the hustle and bustle of life! We were able to relax and recharge. Comfortable, cozy, charming, quiet and beautiful. If you admire gardens and nature this is the perfect place. If you want quick access to downtown Portland, great restaurants, adult and family entertainment this place is in the center of it all. I have already booked my return!

Wow! What a FABULOUS Place in a Perfect Location!
I'm not sure where to begin to describe this amazing property! From the moment we arrived to the moment we pulled out of the driveway, Sara's place was just the best! The rental was wonderfully sufficient for my family of four. We arrived to cold bottled water in the fridge along with a variety of cheeses and a basket of snacks. This is such a nice touch for weary travelers. There is a separation, with a nice sitting area and television, between the main living area and the two supplemental bedrooms that my teenage kids thought was pretty great. The beds were super comfortable and with the wonderful blackout shades, we had no trouble sleeping in. The grounds are gorgeous with fruit trees and a variety of other interesting things to look at along with multiple seating options to move around to based on your mood and topped off with the hot tub! Another few steps and you are in the Wilamette River! We loved using the Kayaks to tootle around on the river and visit the park across the way. Sara was extremely responsive (literally seconds), kind and accommodating! If you're lucky, you might even get some of the fresh eggs from her chickens! This was truly our most favorite VRBO that we really didn't want to leave.

Riverside paradise
This was an amazing property with a beautiful garden, amenities and location. The host Sara was a live-in owner so was available to help as needed. Her chickens were cute. We enjoyed time in the shade under the willow, kayaking and watching the ospreys.

Thank you Jacqueline for the 5 star rating! I just want to clarify that I do not "Live-in" in your space at all, it is entirely yours and private. I live in a completely separate area at the same address, making it easy for guests if they need anything, but never in the space of the guests, either indoors or outdoors, it's all yours.

Amazing house with 4 suites
After getting vaccinated, we wanted to have a get together with friends safely, and this house allowed us to have separate sleeping quarters with en suite bathrooms! The beds were extremely comfortable each with toppers, there was a Wifi extension upstairs (excellent and fast internet), the kitchen was well equipped- even the knives were good quality, easy to use grill with comfortable outdoor seating, fantastic views of the golf course, and the street was extremely tranquil and peaceful. We highly recommend this house, and we plan on coming back to it again for future vacations. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
