“This property has it all for a comfortable weekend getaway. We enjoying walking the grounds, exploring the surrounding areas and biking the Sparta-Eloy trail. We found a cute pond to fish at the end of the drive and other ponds/lakes in the area to fish as well. We enjoyed sitting out on the covered porch and listening to the rain storms rolling in. “This was an excellent home away from home. We had adults and small children. Everything we needed was provided. We all had plenty of room to spread out. We were in La Crosse for a bass tournament so we had 2 bass boats and 3 vehicles to park and that all worked out fine. The host responded quickly to our questions. It was a short drive into La Crosse for restaurants but also found several options in Stoddard. The view of the river from cabin was gorgeous. Highly recommend. ”

“This property is wonderful. The outdoor space is perfect and allows for ample access to enjoy your surroundings. Check-in was beyond easy and the space was set up with everything we needed for our stay. The lake water was a little murky, but it seems it depends heavily on which way the wind is coming from, just like any other body of water. Overall, we definitely recommend this property. We will definitely be back!”

“This is our third visit to the Hillside Hideaway, and it did not disappoint! Comfortable beds, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of space to relax in the living room are some of our favorite features! Our adult children don’t like sharing a queen sized bed, so one of them slept on the couch in the living room and reported that it was very comfy. Highly recommend!”

“The communication with the owner was excellent. And the location was also excellent with stores, gas stations and restaurants with a 5 minute drive. The home was clean and in good condition. The beds were Cozi and comfortable. The basement was nice as well with plenty of games and a table to play them on. The free laundry was a great added touch. I would definitely return and recommend the 1955 to others. ”
