Sehr schönes Zimmer. Tolle Aussicht. Sehr nettes Personal. Frühstück lecker. Wir können die Unterkunft empfehlen.
Zimmer mit Blick auf den Douro. Wunderschön. Man bekommt vom Nachtleben etwas mit. Ist aber auch Zentral. Restaurants sind gleich um die Ecke. Wir würden das kleine süße Hotel immer wieder besuchen.

Booked 2 nights following another wonderful Viking trip ( on the Douro River ). Had done lots of research as we wanted to be in the Ribeira section on the river. Location was PERFECT! could walk to dozens of cafes/ restaurants/ wine bars etc and enjoy outdoors on perfect weather. Upon arrival a bit turned off by exterior which was in need of some cleaning up/weeding and, alas, next to a McDonald's ( in a lovely old building but surrounded by trash we had to pass each time we went in and out.. ugh). Staff small and va/ried levels of genuine hospitality...our room was wonderful with windows on the river. After a bit of juggling we're able to keep that room for both nights vs move ( our fault, 2 separate booking for 1 nite each but they were able to rearrange- appreciated!) Did included breakfast one morning..lovely, very generous spread of typical European fare with coffee & expresso machine availabilie early. Only 8 rooms, small but cozy breakfast room also facing river with seating for maybe 8 people.Porto is a very fun/ safe feeling place with plenty to do...plan at least 2 nights!

Great location, nice rooms and lovely staff made our trip to Porto a fabulous experience. The breakfast is great (as is the food in Porto in general) and being right on the river front in Ribeiro suited our itinerary perfectly. Would stay here again.

Our stay at 1872 River House by Olivia in Porto was truly exceptional. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the river, in the heart of the touristic area, yet it maintains an intimate and charming atmosphere. Everything is within walking distance — major attractions, beautiful viewpoints, and countless restaurants just steps away. The hotel itself is small but absolutely beautiful. It has a unique historic character, with ancient Porto vibes that make you feel as if you’ve stepped into another century, yet with all the comfort and elegance of a boutique stay. Every detail in the décor is thoughtful and well curated. Service was outstanding from the very beginning. Check-in was very fast, and they even accommodated us earlier than expected. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they gave us wonderful recommendations for exploring the city. One of the most special touches was the surprise they prepared for my husband’s birthday — a bottle of wine, homemade cookies, pastel de nata typical of the region, and a handwritten card wishing him a happy birthday. It was such a thoughtful detail, and we truly appreciated the care behind it. Breakfast was served in the cafeteria right in front of the water, which made mornings even more magical. Breakfast was included and delicious. They also had tea, coffee, and fresh fruits available for guests throughout the day, which was such a nice extra touch. Overall, an unforgettable experience. This room is totally misrepresented in the ad, and Expedia did nothing about it at all. We were in another continent and I expected that Expedia would demonstrate due diligence. I’m disgusted by the whole situation.
Not only was the shower in the same room and fully visible to the bed, but it was so filthy. I was reluctant to stand in it.
This is nothing like what the pictures showed and despite having paid for two more nights at about $1000 for those nights we left
