Incredible!

Incredible! This hotel is an absolute gem! Communication with the owners is super easy and responsive. I was asked to even check in early, which was really nice and convenient for me. The hotel, it is absolutely beautiful! Very nice home converted into hotel. So if you are looking for a place with few rooms, that is very clean, with excellent service, and appreciate privacy…look no further. Also, they provide maps of the city and even recommendations for your trip, as well as metro card that you can use and simply top up with credit. The room, we had the Cream Suite. Just as beautiful! Extremely clean, even the towels smell like baby powder! Rooms are spacious, with A/C and very dark at night as well. Breakfast buffet, is delicious. All home made meals! We really enjoyed our three night stay, and look forward at coming back in the future! To Manuela and Joao, thank you for the excellent service!

I booked this place for my parents see the Dragon stadium, and they love it , as this place are just around the corner , very close to the Drangon Stadium. The Landlady was very friendly and polite, giving me advices about the localation , Mrs Manuela makes me feel very welcome also .. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Porto city..

Five stars

It was a wonderful stay. The property was beautifully furnished and breakfast was a delightful spread of cold and warm items. Metro was a 10-minute walk - lovely in the May weather (but might get uncomfortable in the hot or cold months). Above all, Manuela and Joao were amazing hosts who obviously took great pride in the hospitality they provided. If I return to Porto, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Really is a Charming place. Wonderful hosts in a quiet neighborhood away from the busy city center. Just a short 30 walk to the water or quick, inexpensive Uber ride. We were served a delicious breakfast every morning, and hosts made great restaurant recommendations in the area. Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed the second time in this wonderful house. This time for six nights. Everything was perfect. The rooms are really nice, very clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic breakfast. We understand and agree with why this property has 5-star ratings. The owners are so good at what they do and provide all the little touches to make you feel welcome and cared for - including a city map and card for metro. The food was so good, the property so pretty, precise, and clean. We really loved it and appreciated all the efforts of the owners. Wonderful.

Our 5 night stay in Porto

Everything was first class. From the room to the bathroom. It could not have been better. The parking was very safe behind two gates and protected by two very large dogs. The breakfast was superb and plentiful. Our hosts were helpful and charming just like the house. Would highly recommend.

Outstanding place to stay!

I rarely leave reviews unless things went so badly that all should be warned, or everything went so well a business should be praised and supported. Happily, this is a very positive recommendation. This is an absolutely amazing B&B type home with just 6 rooms available for guests meaning owners Manuela and Joao can and do give each guest all the personalized pampering one could expect. Check-in by Manuela includes an unhurried welcome and review of available amenities, suggested things to do in Porto and restaurants to visit. All this good info provided over a complementary glass of local port wine. Also, free parking within the converted home's gated doors is a great amenity for easy arrival/departure - no lugging of luggage through city streets needed here. And then there is the wonderful complimentary breakfast prepared by Joao himself. This is such a beautiful food spread, you'll want to photo document ibfore you start. Breakfast times are arranged at check-in so there is no waiting for this beautiful meal. Serve yourself fresh fruits of all kinds, (kiwi and passion fruit were my personal favorites) cheeses and various hot items including eggs, bacon, ham, home made waffles and more. And on our second morning we were surprised to see a different but just as beautiful and large buffet spread. On both mornings Joao came by to chat about the bkfst and make sure everything was ok.,

Charming Antas House

On our nine day trip across Spain and Portugal we stayed at five different places. Of these, Charming Antas House was the best of them. It was the most expensive place we stayed, but it was still good value for money and it was a good example of: "You get what you pay for", Apart from the room being spotless and comfortable, Manuela and her husband certainly made us feel at home. It was the details that made all the difference- things like the welcome glass of Port, the excellent breakfast and some great restaurant recommendations. Porto is a beautiful city, and this was the ideal place from which to explore it. The nearest Metro station is only nine minutes walk away, but we found that an Uber taxi was the best value method of transport for our family. We would love to visit Porto again one day, and would definitely stay here again.

Great stay at Charming Antas House

The wonderful reviews for Manuela and this location are warranted. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfasts were more than ample and were slightly different everyday. She was helpful providing information on what to do and where to go. The location is easy for metro access; over 3 days I did not get the car out until our departure.

Small excellent family hotel with parking

We had a one night stay in this lovely small family hotel. We booked it as we needed to park the car overnight which they can do with off street parking but it was a really nice friendly hotel with great showers, comfortable bedrooms and the best breakfast you ever had. Manuela the owner was incredibly helpful and welcoming. It is a 5-10 minute walk to the metro and then 10 minutes to central Porto. Top tip stay on the train beyond sao bento as the metro tram erupts onto the top of the pont luiz bridge with the most breathtaking views over Porto. Manuela recommended a few restaurant /cafes locally 1-2 minutes which are in a 1960s crescent that didnt look promising but we had a lovely meal- saltcod/ bachalu , wine etc for 60euros for 2- really good value. Overall a really welcoming comfortable small family hotel only a short hop from central Porto- highly recommended.

Just amazing!

We LOVED our stay. The location is great; we had a rental car so they have a great and safe parking space inside the gates, but still convenient distance to get to the main attractions by public transportation as Porto traffic can be quite hectic (3min walk to the bus stop, or 7min to the metro station). Breakfast is top-notch, 10/10, you’ll be properly fuelled up to tour the city! There’s homemade jam, fresh warm bread picked up from the bakery, the plates match the table cloths, literally every little detail is thought of. Rooms are spacious, as well as the bathroom. No need to climb the stairs as the rooms are located on the first floor. Common room is beautiful and you can play a round of pool if you’re up for it while having a glass of port! Would definitely come again.

This is where you have to stay in Porto! We (my wife and myself) stayed here for two nights an it was wonderful! The Room was perfect 👌 very very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was magnificent. The Host Manuela gave us a very warm welcome with a glas of Portwine, sweets and local insider knowledge about Porto! Manuela was the best host we’ve ever met (and we are traveling a lot!) In the evening you can play billiards if you want to, you get coffee every time free of charge and some cookies :) Private parking places are available! So if you come with a rental car, you should stay here! The Metro is only 7 minutes away and you are very fast in the city center. This accommodation is wonderful! We’ve had a wonderful stay in Porto. Thanks again Manuela!
