This is the second time I have stayed in this property, the first time was back in June with my kids, and this time was November with my boyfriend. It was an excellent day both times. The owner of the property recognize me and she was so kind and treated us so good. The location is convenient, it’s close to the river where all the restaurants and music is happening. Everything is within walking distance.

Clean comfortable room with modern updates. Hostless checkin worked well with clear instructions for door codes, works well for self sufficient travelers. large shower, compact but functional kitchenette, fair breakfast served if that option is chosen, nice rooftop patio and pool (though unheated) Less than perfect: TV in dining part of room.. not viewable from the bed, room facing the street had higher than average noise..don't expect a quiet night sleep if you leave your sliding terrace doors open.. the buildings along Rua de Candida de Rues are like an echo chamber with every loud exhaust sound reverberating up to the rooms! To their credit, there are modern HVAC units in the room so a comfortable room temp can be maintained without opening the sliding doors.

Lovely stay here. Great location with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Staff are super friendly and extremely helpful. Apartment has everything you need for a few days away. The beds are really comfortable and the place was spotless. Good value for money would definitely recommend this place to future travelers.

The facility is well appointed. The breakfast room is not practical. Just an observation; the older gentleman needs to be welcoming. Yes it’s a job but it requires professionalism and a smile! I would still recommend the facility for it’s convenience.

Kæmpe anbefaling af Smartr Porto Gaia. Vi boede der i 4 nætter. Fine værelser som er rene. Det ligger i kort gåafstand til Porto centrum. Der er masser af restauranter, Portvinshuse og liv i Gaia, hvor hotellet ligger. Hotellet har selv check in, som er nemt og fungere fint. Morgenmaden var virkelig lækkert, og ham der står for det, gør alt hvad han kan for at give dig den bedste service, og skaber god stemning. Vi oplevede ingen larm eller støj fra byen eller andre på hotellet. Man kan køre udvendige persienner ned, som tager larm og sollys. Hvis vi kommer tilbage til Porto, skal vi 100% bo her igen.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Studio apartment was fantastically equipped. From olive oil sachets for cooking, to toiletries, tiny wardrobes and the tv thats also a mirror. Check in details came through early which was a big bonus. The building is in a really good location, just set back from the riverside. Supermarkets and cafes and restaurants on the street. The view from the rooftop bar and pool made it such a relaxing place to watch the sunset. The view is amazing. Staff were really friendly. A thoroughly good stay, have recommended to friends.

We didn't realize from the Expedia listing that this was more airbnb than hotel. At the end of a very long travel day we were stressed at having to create a whatsapp account and having to get a code and punch it in on a street side. I like a reception desk with a person to speak to. Having said all that about the check in process, we had a really excellent stay. The place is spotless and well located. Absolutely everything provided and a small grocery shop close by. No cleaning is provided during the stay. We stayed 6 nights and when we asked for clean towels and a tidy up on the afternoon of day 4 we were told no. After pleading, they did come in and empty our garbages that afternoon. I would give a 4 out of 5, and the only point off is for the things we weren't told up front.

Close to the vibrant night life

The location was exceptional and the view to the WoW new attraction was superb . We were three and had room 405. The couch was not a pull out couch so it was slightly hard for my taste. There was no warm water in the master bathroom shower, but I loved the fact that there were two bathrooms. And the main bathroom was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It had an elevator and also had a massage and spa which being a weekend was closed. The pool was more of a tank with resistance but there were always one or two people that did not mind. We loved our stay and will come back!
