Two things I felt were needed:
1) better lighting outside along the road up to the Atlas. At night time, it is quite dark and the house on the right where we turn was lit up but not the hotel office. It was confusing.
2) A much bigger sign is needed for the hotel office. Again at night is when many guests arrive and once you are inside I had to figure out their old system of picking up the phone and wait for someone to come check me in.
I visited the area during High season, and rates were high in the area. This was a great economical alternative. The room was spotless, the location was great, the staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a modest hotel with smaller rooms, but everything works just fine, including the TV and the Wi-Fi. I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

No breakfast didnt clean room every night and strange customers
Stayed at the Atlas Motor Lodge because it was an hour away from an annual bicycle event in Millerton, NY. The lodge is conveniently located near the bike trail linking Newburgh and Poughkeepsie and the walkway over the Hudson River. The bed was comfortable, room was neat and bathroom/shower were acceptable. If you require amenities, such as a pool, gym or lounge, pay more and book at a corporate/chain lodging. If your good with a fair price and decent room, this is your place!
My wife and I were very pleased and would book again and recommend it to friends.
Very clean and neat room with good fridge & microwave. Bathroom very small and tight. Towels a bit scratchy. Arti very pleasant staff member and extremely helpful! Wonderful lady.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
It was comfortable I like the room. Could use bigger softer towels and bigger trash cans but ok
If you are on a budget, don't want a cookie cutter experience and are up for an adventure, this motel is a great choice. It is right next to the Rail Trail that spans the Hudson River (do it) and beautiful Franny Reece park with its miles of meandering trails through colorful woods. We were able to park right outside our room at no cost so we could go in and out easily. This is an older motel that has been popular since the 1950's and it was fun to go retro for a few days. Refridgerators, freezers, microwaves and coffeepots have been added in the modernizing updates, but the motel still retains that James Dean feel. Its location near the bridge provides easy access to both sides of the river and the attractions such as the Vanderbilt mansion and Franklin Roosevelt's Presidential Library.
Room clean. Staff courteous. We had a room in the main building with interior hallway. Great location to “walkway over Hudson”. I would stay here again for a similar trip.
The room was very clean and comfortable , the staff were very accommodating when we asked for extra pillows and towels .. the A/C could use a little tune-up ... stayed for weekend .. plenty of restaurants close by including Dunkin Donuts..😊😊
We checked in and first of all the lobby area was filthy, carpets, wall etc. We were hesitant but checked into the room and the room carpet was filthy, the bed mattress was also filthy, stained etc, would not sleep on such a bed. Also the tv did not work. We left and found a Super 8 motel and checked in. We then went back to the Atlas and checked out. The clerk said we could apply for refund thru Expedia.
You should not even list the Atlas Motor Lodge on your sight.
Very nice employes. Got you whatever extras you wanted and made anything right that was rong. Very clean and comfterable rooms to. The only hotel i use when i come to the area
The staff here at Atlas are extremely wonderful. I was there during the storm and they were very helpful esp with snow removal on my car etc. The room was comfortable and the amenities worked fine!
Honestly...it's so bad, it seems like a comedy sketch. I think they overbooked, and didn't really have a "real" room available..so they offered us a "choice" of two subterranean dwellings, one w a queen bed, other king.
I included pics, cause to just try to describe them wouldn't do justice. Especially the "mystery door", as we called it...with a duct taped drape over it.
In the end, after laying on top of bed fully clothed at night..we left and drove 2 hrs to go home.
If sleeping on a bed thats as hard as the ground, a bathroom, without working lights. broken lights in room,
NOT working AC, Smelly hotel, broom closet size room then this is just the place you wanna stay. Otherwise Don't bother staying here

convenient and modest
hotel was convenient to the walk over the Hudson. I didn't want to pay a lot of money, so this hotel fit the bill. clean room, clean linens, clean lobby. nice place to stay, no frills, just what I wanted.
