Gypsys Rest - Freycinet Holiday Houses
Absolute water frontage & amazing ocean views in a private retreat.
A beautiful property, with expanding ocean views from almost every part of the house. Hear & see the ocean from your bed.
There is a funky round couch in the lounge room and a wood fire to curl up in front of while looking at the view (the fireplace can be used from May to September only). There is also a reverse air conditioning unit.
There is free wifi and Netflix.
The kitchen is well equipped and there is an espresso coffee machine for those guests where good coffee is a must.
Large veranda’s, with a cosy double day bed, BBQ & fabulous outdoor entertainment area’s with a new outdoor heater.
The perfect spot to relax with a glass of local Tassie wine, fresh seafood or a sumptuous Eye Fillet sizzling on the BBQ, while enjoying a breathtaking view, with family, friends or just the two of you
Your own private path down to the ocean and jetty.
The jetty is located within a 2-minute walk. Perfect for fishing, you can watch your children fishing from the comfort of your holiday house (basic fishing gear is supplied).
There is also a boat ramp at the jetty, where you have boat access to a protected bay.
Fantastic swimming beaches within walking distance.
Whether you would like a romantic, secluded getaway or a great family experience Gypsy’s Rest is the property for you!
There is one bathroom with a separate toilet & two bedrooms (1 x Queen / 1 x Built-In Double & Single Bunk).
Conveniently located 40 minutes from Hobart & Salamanca markets, a must-do for Saturdays.
A 30-minute drive to the Airport.
A 1-hour drive to the amazing Port Arthur region, with attractions such as Tasman Island Cruises, Port Arthur Historic Site & The Devil Park.
The perfect spot to see a Tasmanian Devil, see the amazing coastline, try some world-famous Tasmanian wine & then explore the history of the penal colony.
Sorrel (20 minutes away) is the gateway to the beautiful East coast & Freycinet National Park.
Sorrel has shops, cafes & restaurants. Sorrel Markets are on most Sundays (due to weather).
Take a 25-minute drive to the historic Richmond & the Coal River Valley wine region.

Perfect!
We loved Gypsy’s Rest. The property itself was quiet and relaxing, very comfortable and welcoming. The location was spot on for us - a semi-remote setting but shops close by in Sorell and great for us in terms of day trips to Hobart and Port Arthur. Also excellent value for money.

The name says it all, definitely restful
I booker this with my partner, 3 nights, was definitely a wow factor place, would like to come back again, fishing is a must, on the point, got nothing off the jetty, well equipped cupboards, very impressive, comfortable, clean, the only thing I struggled with, was being told you can only light the fire in certain months, I don't get that, we should be able to light the woodheater or firepit when ever we want, obviously wouldn't in fire restriction times, but just found that rule a lil off putting. Something minor, but still found it abit wrong.
Great positioning, a wow factor view, very very peaceful, just beautiful.

Small town serenity
A great beach style stay with plenty of room for kids and activities as well as solitude if needed. With a nice little walk to the water, open fire and outside bath, gypsys rest makes for a great weekend getaway. The lack of any real shops was our only negative so next time we'd go much more equipped.

Peace
Gypsy’s Rest was a wonderful place to stay as we felt at peace the whole time, which was why we chose to go there. The views were amazing and the fireplace cosy. We even used the outdoor bath which was fun.
The coffee machine and having the coffee provided was also great. The bed was a bit too firm for me but other than that everything was perfect.

Beautiful view
The property was magic, amazing water views, glorious deck to sit out on and enjoy the sun that we had and the view of the boats below. Only thing I would say is that microwave containers for cooking and heating are needed, you have a lovely kitchen with full use, just need to update essentials. Would fully recommend for a stay away

Rustic beach house
Absolutely enjoyed our 2 night stay! Stunning water views, conveniently located between Hobart and Port Arthur and up the road from a great beach. The house was warm, homey and really well equipped. It was cold and rainy outside but we didn’t notice! Home cooked meals, a wood fire and the coffee machine were a bonus! Wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely visit again! Thankyou!

Lovely holiday
We really loved our stay, well catered holiday house, very peaceful and private with amazing view over the water. The house was tastefully decorated but still maintained a holiday feel to it. We would recommend to others looking for a relaxing break away.

What a magnificent deck, great layout, plenty of seats, and the view at sunrise is fantastic, the house has nice decor throughout. Primrose Sands is a great beach, about 1km away

Excellent property
What a warm and welcoming property. So cosy. We spent a lot of time here just to relax and rejuvenate. Beds were comfy. Lounge area was fantastic. And that view wow. Only thing is make sure you bring all your staples for cooking. Never know though, the last guests to stay may have cleaned the pantry out. We would definitely recommend this property. We would love to stay again. Our dogs had a great time too. Thanks for having us.
