We loved the vibe and the food at all of their venues on site most of all but the airconditioning on the room and throughout the hotel was lacking(never cool), not a single fan above on ceilings in rooms which should be next in Mexico. The service was hit or miss with some staff being excellent while others didn’t seem to care at all. The lack of property information for the hours of operation and the facilities was annoying and we were told conflicting information after having to repeatedly seek out information for ourselves. But they were always sure to approach us repeatedly about the “timeshare” options that we told them no thank you to daily. I would text this hotel for sure because of the food and the area definitely. No silverware or any dishes on the kitchen meant we could not use it and the coffee maker was broken as well as poorly working airconditioning that make us wake up sweating on the nights.

We just got back after spending 7 days at The Fives Oceanfront myself, my husband and our three kids ages 10 and a 6 year old. The thing that really makes this hotel so special are the staff, George, Claudia, Erik, Elmir, Moises, Baldo, Maday, Ana, Luisa, Yael, and Hiberto all made our stay wonderful. Bring pesos for tipping, even if you do all inclusive. Just like visiting any other country that is the currency they use in Mexico. It costs a lot for the workers to have to exchange US dollars to pesos and the rate is terrible right now. We had a two bedroom with an ocean view and the rooms are beautiful, modern, and clean. We did the included breakfast which was good but the menu is very limited and never changes. Cocktails are also excellent. We went to the area restaurants for dinner and they were amazing. The location is wonderful, 14 minute walk into town and we always felt very safe. The cons are that outsiders can come get a day pass so you have to get up early to grab a chair by the pool or beach. This was more of an issue on the weekends, no issue during the week. While we loved the hotel we got roped into doing one of their presentations that was absolutely awful. It was supposed to be one hour in exchange for a free lunch.It ended up being 3 hours. It’s a timeshare scam, do not do the presentation. It is not worth it. We talked to several people trying to get out of it.

This was my first solo trip and I had the greatest time! The staff was incredible, the hotel is super cute and I felt always very comfortable and safe. The food and drinks were pretty good, specially the coffee at Rowmarley. I booked a scuba trip through the hotel and that was also pretty nice. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Expedia booked 3 rooms for 6 of us traveling. I received a confirmation. When we arrived the staff told us there are no rooms for us. We needed to rebook a different hotel on the spot and changed our entire trip. Horrible experience. Terrible management

Beautiful property right on the beach. Walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Easy access to Colonia, the local's town where authentic Mexican food can be found for a fraction of the price. Food and beverage prices were at least double the amount than in Colonia. Also cheaper options and larger portions found in walking distance.

The Fives Oceanfront is the most beautiful resort I've stayed in a long time. The rooms were well designed and spacious. And the staff was extremely accommodating. Especially Valerie and Sarahi. Food could be better, but there are options and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Overall a 10 out of 10 for me!

The Fives is a beautiful boutique hotel with amazing views. That’s the good. We had a 2 night reservation booked through Hotels.com. I chose the “pay at check in” option. (first mistake) 2 days before check in I received an email saying if I didn’t pay my balance within 24 hours my reservation would be cancelled. There was a link to the hotel reservation desk. That phone number didn’t work. Finally found a correct number to be told by the reservation representative to call back the next day. Physically went to the hotel the next morning to take care of the situation. The hotel concierge contacted reservations. They told me I couldn’t pay because it was a 3rd party reservation. I argued with him and he hung up on me. The concierge was finally able to get my bill paid. Check in is a pain. There is no front desk. You stand and wait until an employee notices you. We got our rooms, went up and found our key opened all of the rooms in our block. Our friends only opened our room. Went to lobby for reprogramming. Back up- still not right. Decided to deal with it when we went out. Suddenly our door opens and a random couple walks in. I’m naked. Went to the lobby, asked for management. Told no. After 3 more trips back and forth, another denial to speak to management, finally having stafff and security come with their laptops to reprogram the doors we had access to only the rooms we should. Their only comment to all of this was “sorry for the inconvenience”. Not acceptable, Fives!

This hotel was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked up the stairs I was blown away. Was beautiful in every way. The staff went above and beyond and were so friendly. The breakfast we got included in our stay was exquisite. The views were magnificent, and the room that we got took my breath away. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on and the balcony was huge. The rooftop pool and the beach were amazing. I never wanted to leave. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Only 10 minutes walk away from town, which was perfect to get the steps in after dinner. I can’t say enough about this amazing place. Thank you so much.

Wow where do we begin. This is our 2nd time coming to The Fives Oceanfront because we loved it so much and our 2nd time was even better than our first. Everything was wonderful, the beach, the pool, the food, our room, but none of this would be possible with the STAFF they’re the ones who make this resort AMAZING. To name a few of the people who took care of us Erick, Emir, George, Baldo, Carlos, Angel, Luisa, Moses/Moises!! I booked a few nights for my parents who are seniors. My mom uses a cane and found the hotel accessible; the elevators and closeness to the beach from the hotel were perfect. They loved the hotel location and amenities but more than anything, they received excellent service and were glad with the kindness of the hotel staff. They want to return to this hotel in the future and I look forward to visiting too.

The property was nice. We enjoyed how quiet and peaceful the area was. Its about a 15 minute walk to the town center, but there are taxi's readily available for $5 a trip if you dont want to walk. We did not do the all inclusive option, however, breakfast was still included at either restaurant.The breaksfast we had was good. Service at was slow, but the staff was friendly. We did not eat lunch or dinner at any of the restaurants on site. The 2 pools and the beach area were nice and kept clean, however, it was always a struggle to find seating, so I can only imagine the struggle during the busy season. We had the junior suite and it was spacious with a small kitchenette, couch, and king bed. The bathroom was nice, with him and hers sinks and a rainfall shower. The balcony was also nice. If you order room service, be aware that on top of the food charges, they do add a service/delivery fee, which was not mentioned on the room service menu or anywhere. Another thing we weren't a fan of was at checkout they ask you to do a survey before they let you check out, which actually turns out to be a google review. Overall, i would recommend the hotel & would stay again

The property is stunning. The customer service was great. The things I was highly disappointed by were my quality of sleep and access to the pool. I arrived in the evening and I always take an evening swim before bed at hotels. They are usually open until 10. The Fives pool was closed by 8pm. Such a disappointment to not be able to use the pool on a beautiful warm evening. Second was all the lights in my room. The smoke detector was directly over my bed and had a blinking green light. It was like a mini strobe light and very much impacted my ability to sleep well. Last, the prices were unclear and I was charged extra fees at the end of my stay that I had not expected. The sunrise is beautiful from the beach chairs but the staff cleans up seaweed at sunrise and they rake right in front of the chairs as the sun comes up. Its nice that they do this but they worked right in front of me so I had to move.

The property was wonderful. Sadly, the property next door played loud music most of the day which interfered with the ambience of the property.

A great Vacation and stay!
Everyone was very helpful, very nice, and friendly. We were rec'd by Daniela up front when we checked in and it was a pleasure. The only thing we didn't like was that there wasn't enough space for our things in the room. The rooms are very pretty, but not efficient to store things. Also, we are used to garbage cans and napkins in the kitchen. The servers were very friendly and easy to talk to. We had our favs like Daniel, Alejandro, Miguel, and others. Our trip was great and even though we didn't decide to become members . . . Tony and the staff were super to talk to. All in all a great vacation. I do think the morning buffet needs to be changed around every few days. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
