First of all, the hotel WAS NOT called Brisas Tropical playa Los Corales. Instead it was called Tropicana. To make the matters worse, there was no sign to be seen from the street. In fact, the sign one can see from the street says some other hotel name. Also, the google map to the hotel from Expedia kept on sending us to the wrong places in the neighborhood. The phone number on Expedia was also wrong so nobody picked up. It literally took us over two hours to find the place! Secondly, the Expedia site rated the hotel as 4.5 star, but I think it is more suited for 1.5 star. The outside looks like the pictures. It was also clean, and the staff was friendly. But the furniture was threadbare, and doors didn't open without scraping, half of the electric sockets didn't work because it did not have correct outlet covers. The towels were not made out of cotton but some synthetic material that did not absorb any moisture! It still costed more than other hotels with 3.5 stars we stayed afterwards. I have never had any problems with any of the hotels I booked via Expedia over the years, but this one was so bad, that my confidence in the platform shattered. I hope Expedia does better due diligence in determining the quality of hotels on their website.
