– Highly Recommended! Just back from a fantastic 5-day stay with our kids – the experience was amazing! **Endless Activities** Plenty to do: water sports, kids' club, evening shows, and more. Our children loved every minute and stayed happily busy. **Family-Friendly** Super clean and safe – none of the kids got sick. Pools and beach were the highlights; we barely used the room (minor issues there didn't bother us at all). **Small Notes** Check-in is slow (mostly paper-based), and dinner reservations can be tough for non-premium members – book early! Vegetarians have fewer buffet options, but overall food is great. **Tip** Bring $1 bills for tipping – staff appreciate it! The positives far outweigh any minor cons. Perfect spot for a fun, relaxing family getaway. Definitely recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

For vegetarian very limited options. Couldn’t get reservations at the restaurant for dinner . Spanish speaking cooked made mistakes and served meat after repeated guidance for veg food only. Bad experience. I won’t go again

•Wish I knew before booking• property is nice, and very big..you will be walking quite a bit to restaurants and beach/pool if not in the suites. When by the pool/beach there are no servers walking around taking your drinks like at other resorts. Not a picky eater,but the food was not very good. EXCEPT, the Japanese restaurant. Wish we could have gotten reservation to eat dinner there every night. With that being said you need reservations to eat at the a la carte restaurants & they are very difficult to get. Most unfortunate thing was at the sports bar which is open 24/7 it was nearly impossible for us to walk in because it always had a terrible smell inside. If wanting chairs by beach/pool you will have to walk around a bit before finding any as people leave towels on the chairs from the night before. Drinks are great though and if you are premium you are better off having room service every day instead of buffet. Hoyo 19 is the best place for breakfast without a doubt

Found 2 cockroaches on my bathroom floor. Every restaurant smelled of raw sewage. I asked twice for wash cloths. I was promised to get them from the first day there but never got. When the room was cleaned, empty tissue box not replaced & of course no wash cloths. Another customer suggested adult only side. No stench & food was fresh & delicious. Real orange juice instead of Tang on adult side. Booze Cruise was for 18-25 year olds. Wish I would have known. Otherwise, beautiful area.

This is the worst resort in any country I have ever stayed at. I don’t even know where to begin. The roaches in our room or running around the common areas of the resort, the rat that bored a hole through the wall and was digging through the trash can in the bathroom and then was running across the furniture at 3am or the water leaking from the ceiling in our room and we were on the first floor of the buildi

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort! I thought I had booked a different room than I did because all the same pictures are on all the rooms. So, I would suggest they change the pictures to give a more accurate depiction of what you are getting. The rooms were nice but standard for a beach hotel. The beds were comfortable. The hot tubs on the balcony are a great touch. The food was good. Just be sure to make your reservations for the specialty restaurants right away. The beach is beautiful! There was a large college crowd when we stayed which we could have done without. They took over the whole place. Large selection of pools and plenty to do. The spa was lovely. All in all, it was a great value for our money. I think I may book here again.

First of all, the premises of the Resort is huge. If you’re looking to stay somewhere where you but don’t want to leave, Barcelo Bavaro has lots of things to do. We visited as a family of five during the Christmas season and it was very busy. There’s 11 restaurants but it’s very important that you make reservations for the popular ones. There’s room service up until a particular time, which is not included and buffet options through the day. If I was to rate the buffet, I would give it three stars out of five. Some days the options were questionable and service at each restaurant are not all the same.

La habitación estaba un poco sucia, los grifos sucios, jamas nos cambiaron la ropa de cama y las toallas solo las volvían a enrollar, el olor de la habitación era un tanto incómodo por tanta humedad condensada por la falta de ventilación de los baños. El personal en su mayoría,esperaban para cualquier servicio, una propina. No todo el personal es amable.Se podría mejorar la atención de las personas en recepción,al explicar toda la mecánica de los servicios y actividades como cliente y de atención al cliente, para cuando se hacen las reservaciones a los restaurantes, te tratan como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor. Así también el personal de vacaciones Barcelo, al pedir el servicio hacia el aeropuerto, intentó hacer un cobro excesivo y al negarnos se molestó por pedirle que se respetara el precio original. Esto sucedió el día viernes 26 de diciembre aproximadamente a las 9:00pm También, reconocemos la atención del joven Alex, restaurante Dolce vita. Nos ofreció una atención excepcional a comparación de otros meseros de los demás restaurantes. Así también del chofer que nos dio la atención en el viaje al aeropuerto, a nuestra salida del hotel, fue muy amable en todo momento nuestro reconocimiento para el, desconócenos el nombre. Y de la comida del restaurante Santa Fe. Fue decepcionante la comida. Muy mal sabor y la carne incomible. La comida de bufet de los dos restaurantes abiertos, para desayuno y comida, en su mayoría insípida, específicamente las carnes y el pan.

The housekeeper who cleaned our bedroom was very friendly and kept our bedroom clean with fresh towels and sheets. I haven’t seen anyone cleaning the seaweeds from the coast. And majority restaurants had a smell of sewage. Staff at the breakfast seemed to bump to each other’s and do not do much. I was kind of disappointed.

The room was fine, just cold and not controlled by our thermostat. But the real issue is two of us became sick eating bad food. On two separate occasions. One was lettuce (lesson learned) and the other beef burrito. Be warned.

Food was not very good, even at the restaurants (we survived off $16 doritos bags from the hotel store for the entirety of the trip). the rooms were nice and we loved the tub on the balcony. it was hard for our excursion rides to get into the front gate to pick us up on some days. entertainment and night club were very mediocre. pools were nice and well maintained. some staff friendly and some were a tad mean, some also couldn’t understand us due to language barrier. overall an okay trip but probably one we wouldn’t take again. if you walk to the left on the beach there are other hotel beachfronts that have activities, like soccer, that you can take part in. definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone looking for a trip that’s more on the fun/party side.

Room was ok, but there seems to have a pest problem. The 2nd night we found two big cockroaches in our room; one walking out of under the bed (which we killed) and then (2 hours later) another one walking on the wall next to our bed. We switched rooms and on the 4th night we saw a small cockroach walking in the bathroom. Also, on a couple of occasions we saw small cockroaches in the bathroom of 2 of the hotel restaurants. Food was not the best and staff not friendly.

Our family vacation was a complete bust, huge disappointment. From the time we checked in, the room was poorly cleaned where you could tell it was quickly wiped down in a hurry. The door throw latch was busted, the safe was no reset so it was unusable. The family duplex rooms offer no privacy as there are no doors on either bathroom. We had multiple bugs found in the unit, including giant cockroaches walking across the vanity. We tried to make reservations for dinner and only one was available but at 10:30 at night, which is much too late for a family with kids. The standard food buffet was gross, we found chicken bones in the shredded chicken and in general all the food was cold or luke warm at best. The water park that states is part of the all-inclusive package is not accurate, you get one free pass and you pay additional from there on out. The only beer that you could get without paying additional was the local beer of El Presidente, and served warm at best. If you wanted a decent beer like a Corona, it was $6.00; which is extremely high priced. The "all-inclusive" experience as advertised is not at all what it is, plan to bring a couple hundred extra dollars just for decent drinks and water park tickets. All this doesn't even start with the pool experience, or lack of space unless you want to arrive prior to 8:00 AM with minimal space and chairs. Overall, we left 2 days early to give you an idea of our overall experience. Staff were rude from the moment we arrived.
