I stayed here in February, and the location is fantastic. Everything you need is within walking distance, and just across a narrow street is a beautiful beach lined with several great beach bars. This is definitely a budget hotel and very dated—but I knew that going in. The staff was a highlight of my stay, especially the housekeeping team, who were incredibly friendly and attentive. There’s also a pool bar with food service, and everything was reasonably priced. The bartender in particular was fantastic (I just wish I could remember his name). The grounds are well maintained and clean, which I really appreciated. However, the rooms themselves are very basic, with limited amenities. You’re essentially provided with two towels, a roll of toilet paper, and a working refrigerator. There is a kitchenette, but the sink and faucet didn’t work during my stay. The biggest downside was the lack of hot water—I stayed for seven nights and didn’t have a single warm shower. As far as I could tell, there may not be any hot water at all. I traveled solo and chose this place knowing it was extremely affordable, so I accepted some of these shortcomings. That said, the location, grounds, and staff are what make this place worth considering. With some updates and improvements, this could be a really great property.

So is the hotel outdated? Yes. Is the shower inviting you to use it? No. But overall the price you get a super calm hotel that is right across from the beach literally cross the street and bang. For the included breakfast make sure to get the omelette it’s delicious. The staff at the hotel were fantastic and very helpful. They offer tours from the hotel to Saona make sure they charge you 50$ USD and no more. We had to change rooms on day 3 but the staff again were super helpful. A note on the wifi it is the best wifi I have had in the DR just it is strong on the balconies and pool and loby area. I enjoyed this hotel more than any other all inclusive because it was so calm.

No tiene vista a la playa, al menos mi habitación. El desayuno muy bueno y completo, rico. La alberca muy agradable y limpia, excelente ubicación para ir caminando a la playa (hermosa). Al personal de recepción le falta ser más amable. Solo te dan jabón. En general todo bien, pues nosotros vamos a disfrutar el lugar y el hotel es básico y cumple lo que ofrece.

I stayed at Hotel Cortecito Inn Bavaro in Punta Cana from March 28 to April 4, and I was disappointed. The front desk was the biggest problem. One staff member, a black lady, was rude—no greeting, no smile—and insisted check-in was 2 pm even though my booking said 1 pm. The hotel also asks for your passport or ID at check-in. I refused to leave my Canadian passport and had to provide another ID. Javier at the front desk, however, was very helpful and professional. The room was basic but clean, and the air conditioning worked. Prices felt unfair—tourists seem to pay more than others—and the hotel feels outdated. Breakfast was terrible: no tea and tiny portions (one egg, a bit of jam, one mini bacon, and small bread). I had to buy breakfast elsewhere. The hotel doesn’t have a beach spot, so you need to find your own access to the ocean. The poolside food was good, and the server was polite. Be aware that surrounding shops charge tourists more, and hotel security was often absent. Nearby, I recommend Aroma Restaurant—it’s clean, reasonably priced, and portions are generous. Overall, I would not return.

No hay mucha variedad en los desayunos sólo te dan unas cuantas opciones y muy poco. La regadera no funcionaba bien el agua, aveces salía, otras veces unas cuantas gotas, eso si era demasiado frustrante. I never seen a place like Cortecito Inn no hot water, broken toilet seat, broken faucet, dark hallway, saw cockroaches roaming around, smelly room. We’re supposed to stay 7 nights, can’t tolerate, we stayed only one day. No refund. What a nightmare!!

La recepcionista estaba como de malas, a pesar que había carteles que decía que el chekin era a las 13:30 hrs, nos dijo que hasta las 15:00 hrs y no nos dejo ingresar a la habitación, habíamos hecho un viaje en carretera desde Santiago de los Caballeros, sólo quería descansar un poco antes de ir a comer. Despues llego un caballero que al igual contestaba de mala gana en recepción. La habitación eso si, siempre la mantuvieron limpia. Y en ocasiones no salía agua caliente ni tibia, habitación 7002.
