Arrived 12/31/25.NYE. Waited 1.5 hrs in line to check in to hotel!! Horrible! Room was dirty. Hair on bed. Had them reclean room. 1 out of 10 staff members/bartenders spoke English. Most of bartender staff seemed annoyed they had to serve us and very unhappy looking. They seemed to cater more to spanish speaking persons. Food was 2 out of 10. Resort itself seemed clean. Beach was beautiful. 1 and done visit. We will never go back.

The resort was well taken care of , however it is not even close to a five star resort . When you travel to the Dominican Republic one expects Domestic beer not Coors light like we drink back home “ when I inquired about this with royal club guest services, I was told to go into town and purchase my own Presidente light “WOW” this is not how you treat top tear customers. The main buffet food choices were just ok , we only had excellent food once we ate in the royal club restaurant every day . Our room had an infestation of ants. So all this being said I will not stay at this resort again , and any resort that tells a customer to go into town and purchase there own local beer truly doesn’t understand customer service.

The staff was beyond amazing as usual, the original room that was given to us smelled greatly of mold. We then requested another room, and said room was perfectly fine. The food was very repetitive and cold the whole time at the buffet restaurants however the at La carta restaurants were extremely good.

Room was nice. Staff was generally friendly and helpful. Pool and beach were clean. Food was okay, but not amazing. Some bartenders were great but some didn't know what they were doing and didn't know how to make the drinks they offered on their menu. All in all, it was a very typical all-inclusive resort. The family had a nice time.

The resort as a whole was nice, the beach was very beautiful. We were very impressed by our ambassador Esteban Astacio, he help us where ever he could.It was apparent that things were at or near capacity. There were long lines at the bars and the servers everywhere were being pulled in all directions. I can accept the lines, getting a chair or a place on the beach at high season. The real problem was the sanitation, lack of chlorine in the pools and questionable tap water in the rooms which we did not drink. Five out of seven of our group left the resort with travellers diarrhoea. We are just getting over it a week later.

It’s a very good property. As a vegetarian, I expected it to be hard to find options here but it turns out if you do communicate to them that you are vegetarian they help you find options and overall we were able to find food we could eat and enjoy.

We booked 4 rooms for a family vacation for the holidays, plus a birthday. When my son got to his room it looked like it had been rush cleaned with hair still in the bathroom and worst of all - blood in one of the beds!! Yes, blood! The bathrooms especially look like they need a good cleaning and update. One of the other rooms had a smell like wet dog!! At any of the buffets, trying to find a clean plate was a mission - we would walk around in circles and at times had to ask a worker for one. At the buffet stations there is literally one tong to grab the food for MULTIPLE options. So people had to wait till someone finished with an entirely different food option than you want, so you can use the tong. I saw numerous people just picking things up with their fingers out of impatience or hunger!!! If you are a coffee lover or just like a morning cup of joe - DON’T EXPECT GOOD, ACCESSIBLE COFFEE. My goodness it was so difficult to get coffee no matter the time of day. They use these machines that make all different kinds of hot drinks. First off it tastes terrible and most of the time it was out of milk - the milk that you did get was watery. No matter how much milk I put, it could not lighten up the coffee. As for service, it was nearly non existent. There aren’t people walking around asking if you need anything or even walking around to maintain the cleanliness of the buffet areas!!! This was the worst resort in Punta Cana that I have stayed at and will not be coming back!!!!

Occidental Punta Cana Review We traveled to Occidental Punta Cana as a group of 10, ages 11 to 46, and had an amazing time. The beach was absolutely breathtaking with soft white sand and beautiful turquoise water. The resort itself is large, very clean, and easy to get around. The food was great with lots of variety. We tried the Mexican, Oriental, and Italian restaurants — all were delicious. The wood-fired pizza was everyone’s favorite and quickly became a daily must-have. Our rooms were cleaned every day, which we really appreciated. The nightly shows at the theatre were entertaining and well done. Five of us went to Coco Bongo and it was an absolute blast — highly recommend if you enjoy nightlife and high-energy shows. All 10 of us did the dune buggy excursion with a cenote swim, and it was a fantastic 4.5-hour adventure. Tip: bring $1 USD bills to hand out to the local kids along the way — they run up to greet you and it felt good to share. This excursion was one of the highlights of our trip. We also rented a private boat with a water slide for about six hours. It included pizza, unlimited drinks, snorkeling, and tons of fun — worth every penny and perfect for a group. Weather was great overall. It only rained the first night and briefly once in the late afternoon, but it didn’t stop us — we just enjoyed the pool. Temperatures stayed around 27–28°C the entire time. Overall, we had a blast!!! And it was a perfect Christmas 🎄
