Our honest review of Serenade Adults Only Resort in Punta Cana, DR: We spent 4 nights in a Master Suite with Elite Service and really enjoyed the room—spacious, well-located, and comfortable. The pros: Beautiful beach, a very walkable resort layout, and excellent food at the dinner restaurants. The Elite pool area is quiet and relaxing, and the resort is conveniently close to the airport. The cons: Entertainment (both daytime and evening) felt underwhelming. Drink service at the Elite pool was virtually nonexistent—we had to go to the bar ourselves most of the time. Butler service was limited to helping with dinner reservations and didn’t add much beyond that. The bartenders didn’t seem well-trained and were unfamiliar with several standard drinks. At the Market buffet, only regular coffee is available—ordering specialty drinks like cappuccinos can take up to 15 minutes, as they’re made elsewhere due to a broken machine. The adults-only buffet food was fairly basic; we were hoping for more authentic Dominican options. The biggest downside, however, was the customer service during breakfast and lunch. Service was inconsistent—some tables went unattended for up to 20 minutes, and at one point a server seemed visibly annoyed by a simple drink request. Special thanks: We want to recognize the few team members who truly stood out for their service and kindness—Melissa and Joel at the piano bar, Santo from the Gourmet Restaurant, July from Market buffet, & Andy from MGMT.

We were fortunate enough to get a room upgrade to a Master Suite which was clean and spacious, had a jacuzzi tub on a balcony with an amazing view of the resort and partial view of the beach and ocean. The upgrade also came with Butler service. Our butler, Alan, made sure we were well taken care of, including making all of our dinner reservations for our stay. We did notice that the buildings and facilities looked a little run down. The staff were pleasant, but looked tired and there didn’t seem to be enough working in order to keep up with the number of guests. The food was okay, but the buffet items were left out too long for safe consumption. It is best to hit the buffet as soon as it opens. The pools were clean, spacious and lovely, although it could be challenging to find a lounger sometimes by the quiet pool (the elite pool sat mostly empty which is a waste). The party pool with the swim up bar looked like it was enjoyed by many but is not my scene so I avoided it. The beach was beautiful, with plenty of loungers. The only downside was the volume of sea grass in that area. Crews came to clean it daily, and there were control barriers in place, but it was still an unpleasant presence while taking a dip in the ocean. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay. The master suite made it even better.

Resort was beautiful! We got Junior Suite with a swim out pool with pool views. We loved the room and the swim out pool! The staff did not seem very attentive and I don't recall seeing any of the restaurant/buffet host smile once. We got the elite service but wished we hadn't. The private beach for elite stated that it came it with bar service but in two hours we only saw the server once. We did get a bottle vodka with the elite package but we're only able to through half of it. Getting Ice from our butler and guest/room service was way more challenging than it needed to be. The two ice machines on the 2nd and 3rd floor above us were both not functional and instead of being sent on a wild goose chase for the third time we requested that ice be brought to our room. It never came.(Partly why didn't get through our Vodka) There were constant attempts to sell us an excursion both near the pools and on the beach. The beach was gorgeous! We enjoyed the food very much! Loved hanging out in the piano bar too! Wife said her coffees were great!

This property was beautiful, we had a garden view room but they upgraded us to pool view, which also had a 180° view of the ocean. The rooms are huge and well air conditioned. Service was incredible, I have never stayed at a resort that had both poolside and beach service. We didn't have to get up at all! The buffet was mediocre, even for DR. Very small, not too many options, and the food wasn't great. The a la carte were ok, but you are only allowed 2 per stay. The entertainment was fun, the adults only side doesn't have much going on late, and we were told we couldn't access the family side of the resort (even though the site mentioned you could), that would have been an extra $560 for a 5 night trip. Not willing to pay that. Expedia also mentioned a $500 resort credit - but it's not actually a credit and just available to use for a 15% or so discount on extra amenities. So do not book this resort because of that! All in all a great relaxing trip. If you're going to party or people watch this resort is not for you, it was very quiet, which for us was a plus!

Employees were great, the towels sometimes had stains or crusty parts but we're still clean, we upgraded our room to one with a Jacuzzi but it was broken and it took multiple days for them to fix it. No streaming services on the TVs, food was great! I would definitely come back but be sure to have a room upgrade as I feel the cleanliness of the upgraded room was better.

There were pros and cons of booking the Master Suite. We check in March 1 and checked out March 8. Upon arrival at approx. 1:30/2, we were taken to the elite service area to be checked in. We met the person who was supposed to be our butler and he escorted us to the lunch buffet to eat while we waiting for the room to be ready. He said he would come get us when it was ready, but never came and we never saw him again for the whole trip. When you book elite service, you are supposed to have a butler throughout the trip which we did not receive. Since I booked through Expedia, I had a $500 resort credit. You have to use the credit on specific things, but you can't fully pay for one thing with the credit. For example, the regular pool/beach chairs are included but if you want the cabana its either $30 or $50, but the paper they give for the resort credit you can only use $20 on the cabana so you would still be paying the rest of it. It won't fully cover any item listed. I had planned to use it in the spa but that was not an option. When you arrive they try to sign you up for a "timeshare" meeting during breakfast on your first full day there. They say in return you can have a discounted spa treatment. The food wasn't bad, but there were not many options. There aren't a lot of restaurants and then the amount of items on the menu is very limited. Throughout the stay we saw about 4 roaches.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service came everyday and replaced towels and fridge. Staff was helpful with booking reservations via WhatsApp (but sometimes it was difficult to get a reservation — would recommend trying to book all reservations your first night). Room was fairly clean, however, it did show some signs of damage. For example, the doorway panels were pulled away, there was missing grout in the shower, the tv didn’t work, and one of the elevators was out of order. Pool areas were fairly clean as well. The lounge chair cushions had some stains, but pool towels were in fair condition. Food was good and there were a good amount of options. It was nice being on the adult side and being able to go to the family side as well. The buffets were probably the best. I wish there were more restrooms closer to the pool areas and that the property was a bit more fixed up. Overall, we had a great time! Food was good, staff was nice, and the vibes were fun.
