Note: This review was written by my sister, who accompanied me on this trip and witnessed the management's failure to address my being trapped in our room. I am writing to express my profound disappointment with our recent stay. This resort is far from a five-star establishment; it is a safety liability. The most alarming issue involved a recurring door malfunction that trapped my sister in our room for three hours on December 7. Despite calls to the front desk starting at 10 AM, her safety was not prioritized. I had to personally intervene with the Guest Services Manager, Maria, and her assistant, Eunice. Maria was dismissive and seemed more focused on negotiating accommodation terms than my sister’s immediate distress. Shockingly, we were denied compensation because we refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement—a clear attempt by management to avoid accountability. Beyond the safety risks, the resort is in a state of decay. We encountered mold, water damage, and roaches throughout the property. Instead of a refund for these health and safety violations, we were offered "incentives" to return, which is nonsensical given our experience. Neither Maria nor Eunice offered a personal apology to my sister for her ordeal. The negative reviews for this property are accurate. Between the mechanical failures, the dilapidated conditions, and the unethical management practices, I strongly advise potential guests to stay elsewhere. This resort is a significant liability.

A wonderful stay. The food was very good, the room was large and clean. The people are wonderful, helpful and accommodating. The only issue I had was my room was not cleaned until after 4pm. I love an afternoon nap after spending the day in the sun but wasn't able to.

The resort is clean, nice, and updated. The BIG problem was the rude staff that was lazy and obviously didnt want a tip! Food was mediocre and the same food everyday in the buffet. Nothing at all to do on the adult side. White party was a kid party. Said they had a neon party but that was not true. Never got our mini fridge refilled. Asked for a steamer and they never brought it. Ocean had seaweed which is not the resorts fault and they did keep it cleaned up. No fun activities at the party pool and no music playing. No firw show or beach shows. We will never go back and we will definitely stick to Cancun resorts as the workers there are happy to have our tip money! Also, NO American Flag in the sports bar but every other flag of the world was there.

Room was clean and cold air. Staff not friendly, entertainment non existent at this resort. Seems like all activities were on family side and you aren’t told on all adult side. Bar you would wait forever to get a drink as staff ignored you standing there…we tipped for every drink! Very disappointed with this resort as far as food, restaurants and unfriendly staff. Will not recommend!

Clean room, but was difficult to get refrigerator restocked daily or room cleaned on a regular basis. Not sure why as we tipped daily. Also, had no hot water in shower for 5 of 8 nights due to the hot/cold faucets being backwards. Staff was accommodating, and food was acceptable.

food isn’t the greatest. the restaurants you have to book are better than the buffets in my opinion. no full body mirror in the room. there is no directory card of information in the room. had to figure out what number to dial to reach desk. in my room it was “0000” but others are just “0”. the local cake shop carolas cake is not the greatest either. most staff members are nice.

Our stay at Serenade was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The resort is beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food, entertainment, and overall atmosphere were excellent. We truly enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to come back! Special shoutout to Arismendy!!! All-in-all it wasn’t bad, but didn’t live up to what we were expecting. The positives: The resort is beautiful. The layout, pools, rooms, restaurants, and facilities were great. Except the Disco is at the farthest corner in the family side and the signage was so bad it took us two days just to find it! A major highlight was THE FOOD. The Market buffet was awesome with different stations for whatever you’re feeling, fresh seafood, steak and chicken grilled in front of you, fajitas etc. The restaurants didn’t disappoint either, with an awesome teppanyaki experience, delicious sushi, and great steakhouse to name a few Pools are great with enough chairs you can find a place most days, and the party pool isn’t over the top loud. Marta and Edwin from the Palapa bar were AWESOME and the only ones we seen bringing drinks to the chill pool The piano bar was great Jorge the singer/piano player was amazing, but was sadly only there one night The bad: What shocked us the most was the staff. Overall they were rude and seemed understaffed/disorganized Very hit or miss if you’d get someone friendly or even get service, trying to get a cup of coffee at breakfast was a struggle and were met with glares when we asked for anything. The sand bar was the worst with sometimes 5 people behind the bar yelling back and forth lazily pouring drinks then finally yelling “what do you want” The staff spoke very little English making it hard if you speak little Spanish Rooms are good, but not very clean

Celebrating my wife's birthday. The room was amazing, as was the resort. Great staff, always professional and courteous. A special thanks to the bartender in the lobby, Francisco Quezada who went above and beyond. He is an amazing mixologist and host.

I found the food mediocre except the buffet stir-fry and the breakfast buffet. I found the staff very somber and rarely smiled and most had no English. The staff at the beach bar were rude and told my husband he would make him the drink he requested for 2 dollars! The positives were Jerilenny that was friendly, knowledgeable and always had time to answer any questions, Angel in the buffet always had a smile and was attentive and spoke very little English but did his best, the third was Valentina from the membership staff. She knew her information, spoke extremely well and was a delight to talk to. We were bored, disappointed and my husband got sick from the lack of sanitization in the buffets and bars. For these reasons we will not return and cannot recommend this resort to others.

Me and my husband absolutely had a great time at this resort however, there were some things that didn’t break the good time but needs more work. The app was down a lot so we could not. schedule our dinners after coming back from an excursion early that morning afternoon or the evening. There is one ATM between both hotels so of course it broke so we did not have money to tip very many people on our excursions which made us feel very uncomfortable because they went all out to show us a good time. The last thing is if they asked to book your complementary breakfast or lunch for you don’t do it. This is to get you to invest in the property and they take up to 2 to 3 hours of your time trying to sell you, which is a great deal, but if you’re on vacation and they ask you how long you’ve been there which for us was 24 hours and we knew nothing about our hotel yet, this is not what you want to do with your time.
