  • After husking and grilling coconuts following amazing recipes I promised I won't disclose, we wanted some rest by the lagoon to enjoy the surroundings and incredible locals (those guys are absolutely amazing!!). We discovered this place slightly out of town but still at walking distance where we could enjoy the lagoon with Kayaks or even walking during low tide. We could enjoy the beaches on small islands facing the deck only inhabited by beautiful crabs. #LifeAtExpedia

Great house

We enjoyed our stay at Matahere's Upstairs. Perfect location to walk to the beach. Plenty of room for kids and adults. Can't wait to come back!

Great Location and Space... Needs some TLC

We were a two family group with a total of nine people (5 teenagers). The location was great and as expected - we have stayed in Muri before. The space in the property was also excellent - lots of room for our group and a big table to eat together. We wish we had read the listing more carefully as there is no air conditioning. There are ceiling fans but they don't really work that well and half the dials to turn them on were missing. This property is very tired - the beds are very old and quite hard and the decor is very dated. In the kitchen the microwave didn't work and the tiles needed attention. The curtains in some rooms don't meet in the middle - we pegged them closed. We stayed 11 days and there is no servicing - luckily the host let us use the laundry on the next level so we could buy some washing powder and wash our sheets and towels. Despite there being no servicing, there are no cleaning products in the apartment to even clean the bench, no basics like salt, pepper and oil. We left what we purchased for the next guests. The kitchen was fairly well equipped with pots and pans and plates. Our parents rented about 300m away and for a similar price had air conditioning, a well maintained, modern apartment with lovely beds that was serviced. The owner needs to spend some money and bring the place up to a better standard for the price.

Great location, nice big house and pretty views. No air conditioning, but good breeze. People staying downstairs were up late making noise a lot, but Eddie was helpful dealing with this.

Beautiful home in a great location short walk to Muri Lagoon . Very clean with immaculate gardens. The sunrise views over Muri from the front balcony was a joy to wake up to every morning.
