Large Disappointment
Beautiful home, filthy dirty. Pool surrounded by cig butts. No instructions for home. No toilet paper or paper towels. Sink & shower drains clogged. Moldy annex baths. A tub leaks & filled the bathroom floor. A dirty mop was next to it. All the slipcovers dirty, stained and smelled like wet dog. Making beds, we discovered urine and bloodstained mattresses, bedding. Spider webs were on the bases of all the furniture. Pool equipment & hoses strewn across terrace. Garbage bins were overfilled. Truck drove past this house & didn’t empty bins. Contacted management within 1 hr of arrival, per contract. Called 3X. No response. Sent written email within 2 hrs of arrival, per contract. No response. Reached a Mgr Monday, after power went out. Christian expressed empathy & promised an electrician and to accelerate cleaning issues. By then, we had cleaned what we could. Never heard from anyone until pool cleaner arrived on Day 5. He waited until 6 of us left & then knocked on door. Was startled when it was answered. He was there to document complaints with photos. Claimed he inspected home weekly. Said cleaners must have missed house. Laura toured him & realized he didn’t know the layout. We searched for alternative accommodations, but 7 people on a peak week. Impossible. Never experienced such a creepy transaction & it will change how we book houses in the future. If I were VRBO, I’d be embarrassed to associate with this house. Not worth it.
