Review of Holiday Inn Express, Corning – A Frustrating Check-In Experience
Our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Corning was marred by a deeply frustrating check-in experience that left us disappointed and exhausted. After a long day of travel, we arrived at the hotel weary and eager to settle into our room. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward process turned into a stressful ordeal.
Upon receiving our room assignment, we made our way to the fourth floor, only to discover that the room was already occupied. This was a shocking and unsettling start, as it’s unacceptable for a hotel to send guests to an occupied room. Tired and frustrated, we had to return to the lobby to address the issue.
Back at the front desk, the situation didn’t improve. The staff member, while attempting to resolve the issue, openly complained about their manager, blaming them for the error. This unprofessional behavior added to our discomfort, as we were not interested in hearing about internal staff issues—we simply wanted a solution. To make matters worse, we were informed that the room we had booked was unavailable, and we would be reassigned to a different room. No clear explanation was provided about why this happened, and the entire process was slow and inefficient, dragging out what should have been a quick fix.
The ordeal was particularly taxing given our exhausted state, and it significantly soured our first impression of the hotel. While we eventually got a room.
