Fire alarm went off at 12:30 am. There was no staff on the peoperty to guide/explain what was going on. The fire company arrived , scanned the peoperty, turned off the alarm. Still no staff. After an hour the fire company told us to go back in the building. No explanation as to what was going on.

This was an incredible hotel for a 2-start hotel. Amazing view, nice and clean. The only two complaints I had were: (1) sliding bathroom door that did not quite close; and (2) could easily hear noise from other rooms - including footsteps above us. Would stay here again and cross my fingers there was no one above us! Or at least no one loud...

The beach location was perfect; what a lovely beach. I have wanted to visit Dewey beach and I was not disappointed. The hotel was nicely decorated and rooms were spacious. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

Surf Club is a no frills beach house type motel that still offers all the modern amenities like in-room coffee maker, fridge, micro, wifi, etc (kitchenette). My wife and I felt like we were in the nostalgia of the 1960's. Couldn't care less that there was no elevator, the hotel is only 3 floors and there's an awesome retro dumbwaiter that takes your zooms your luggage to your floor. The staircase and hallways are narrow, and of course they are, because that's a 1960 beach front hotel. It was practical then and awesome now to stay in a place that takes you back to the very roots of beachfront living. The room reminded me of a stateroom in a clipper ship (google it) with it's clapboard, exposed beams, quaint little nooks and you absolutely will not find a more breathtaking view. Everything you need is there so you don't have to sacrifice comfort in any way, but the feel, the vibe, and the look of Ocean Club is exactly what you want if a beach house is where you want to stay. My wife and I will 1000% be back. Hopefully soon !

Our room had a wonderful view, which we enjoyed through huge windows facing the beach. There are no balconies on this property, but we could open the side window for breeze and ocean sounds. There is no elevator, but there is a "dumbwaiter", which navigated our luggage upstairs easily. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was polite and helpful. Lots of parking on two lots.It was great for a quick weekend getaway.

Super friendly staff and beautifully clean room. Bathroom is small, but you're at the beach! There's a full refrigerator and kitchenette. While there's no balcony in our room, we can see the ocean from the large window and there's a small dining area and couch. We'll definitely stay here again.
