The location was perfect for walking to the Metro and places to eat. It felt very safe, even walking at night. We enjoyed being so close to the Washington and Old Dominion Trail and rented bikes from a nearby Capital Bikeshare station to explore. One thing that was confusing is the check in—you need to fill out a form online with your personal details before check in. Upon arrival, press “Leasing Office” on the door pad to call the front desk to be let in. We arrived at night and were confused about how to enter the building. Figured it out, but explicit directions would be helpful. FYI there is paid parking for guests in the attached parking garage by hour. Very clean, quiet, great 5th floor co-working and fitness space. Would recommend!

While the accommodations itself was fine, the checkin process was a complete disaster, from start to finish - including the “24 hour concierge” being MIA to having to call, call again, and email, before resolving the apparent double-book of the room. I suppose I am the lucky one having showed up just before the 2nd scheduled occupant, who was still sorting out her booking when I was finally able to actually get in the apartment. -2 for the poorly run process, specifically.

After having a less than ideal stay at a different Global Luxury/Churchill location, I read the reviews for this building and decided to give them an opportunity to leave a better impression. One of the existing reviews shares of a broken bed, I may’ve gotten the same unit they stayed in, as my bed was broken as well (the bed frame, specifically). The bed sank into the middle of the broken frame. Advertised parking for (temporary) guests in this building is a three minute drive/ten minute walk away from the building, but onsite parking is just about the same price. The description says parking is $165 which isn’t the case. The drain is very slow in the tub and the water collects while the shower is going. The washer needs to be cleaned/sanitized as there’s a faint mildew smell in the drum. As a suggestion, temporary-stay units should consider disposal toilet brushes instead of having the used (dirty) toilet brush on display.

Beautiful Property, Nightmare Booking Experience

The property was undeniably beautiful and spacious, but the pre-arrival process was a disaster. I booked a Global Luxury Suites hotel via hotels.com, only to find it was actually the Skymark building, owned by Churchill. I opted to pay upon arrival, yet my card was charged in full 7-10 days before my stay without any explanation. Attempts to resolve this with hotels.com failed; they couldn't contact the company. A search for "Global Luxury Suites, Reston VA" revealed it didn't exist. I received a suspicious email demanding photos of my credit card, which I refused to provide. Desperate for clarity, I called the headquarters, only to be rerouted to a Medicare hotline and various dead ends. Eventually, I discovered this wasn't Global Luxury Suites, but Skymark. The billing department insisted on the credit card photos for a "3D secure" form, threatening to withhold check-in instructions. This form offered no security assurance, and my card had already been charged in full! This experience was marred by mismanagement and shady practices. The beautiful property couldn't overshadow the incompetence behind the scenes. Be cautious if you book here.
