"La chambre était propre mais la cuisine je n'ai jamais vu ça auparavant, poubelle débordante de déchets, micro ondes sentant le cadavre, impossible de faire bouillir l'eau de mon café, une honte car cette maison fait partie du patrimoine de Rio.
Voiture abandonnée dans la rue, drogués faisant leur neccessidades dans la rue,
Je ne comprends pas que l'on est pas fermée cet établissement.
Nunca voltarei ahi."

"What makes it stand out is the staff and how they try to have everyone be engaged, they have multiple events a day and is very sociable! The location is also great as it’s a 3 minute walk to Ipanema beach! "

"Wonderful staff. The place itself is very well located, but the bunkers are not very solid and are made from light wood (I was on the top one and all night waking up because every time the guest underneath me moved, the whole bed moved too). The communal shower is also very tight. Overall, budget friendly for backpackers who don't mind a certain degree of discomfort "

"A experiência foi muito boa,o Sr Sebastião foi muito solicito e me deixou bem a vontade no hostel.
Bem localizado, fica a 5 minutos de caminhada da Estação Estacio, mas a Estação Afonso Pena fica próximo também.
Os quartos possuem ar condicionado e o banheiro compartilhado atendeu muito bem as minhas necessidades.

"Awesome vibe, great staff. I stayed in the private room. I do recommend the hostel to solo travelers as the staff makes sure to relay events allowing guests to meet and go out. Daily happy hour free Caipirinhas.

"About two blocks away from the beach, felt very safe in the neighborhood. Great food options close by. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet had scrambled eggs different sausages and lots of fresh fruit and bread options. My only complaint is the scrambled eggs were very wet but overall great food at breakfast! Room was a little small but very clean and nice. Pool was so beautiful and they have a sauna and place to hangout on the roof with great views. I would definitely stay here again!"
"This was my first time in Brazil. My first surprise at the hotel was the slow checkin. One has to do a government-required security form online first, but even after that the staff seem to take an age typing in their computers to get one checked in.
The front-desk staff were helpful when I interacted with them as were the bell staff, the pool staff, and the maitre d' at the restaurant. But most of the other staff didn't speak English (very much or at all).
I had pre-paid, and they forgot to scan a credit card for incidentals, so I ended up struggling to charge to my room one day, talking to a waiter who I couldn't communicate with. That was resolved by a nice manager later.
The pool on the 17th floor is very nice with a fantastic view. But I did my swimming in the sea. The hotel provides a special card allowing you to get a towel, leaving the ticket as a deposit. You get it back and drop off when you check out.
The biggest problem in the hotel is ventilation: I have a CO2 monitor and found the levels in most of the hotel were way too high (indicating they are recirculating the air). In my room it would get above 1000 ppm (600-800 would be good in other hotels). I did open the window some of the time to resolve this, but there was also high particulate pollution ouside! In meeting rooms of the conference centre part of the hotel, the C02 got above 2200 at times, which makes people start to have trouble concentrating ... not a good thing when you are in meetings all day!"
"Everything was perfect from the breakfast buffet to the pool rooftop view which was amazing!! The bellhops were the best especially the one they call J. And also Matteu. "
"Room and bathroom was unclean. Dirty bed linen, dust/trash under bed under bed and sofa bed provided. The bathroom sink would back up with water and took a long time to drain.
I was not notified that the middle elevator did not stop at the 8th and 7th floors. Used the stairs to get to my room several times.
Chaotic breakfast seating my table was taken while I got my food, but a good and varied breakfast spread."
