A narrow lava-stone path leads to an 18th-century farmhouse perched high above the sea, nestled amid the lush, typical Sicilian vegetation—palm trees, lemon trees, oleanders, prickly pears, and succulents. The farmhouse is situated on a volcanic promontory close to the coast between Acireale and Riposto and enjoys a stunning view of the Ionian Sea, with Mount Etna behind it and the Taormina coastline on the horizon. A private path leads directly to the beach, which is only 50 meters from the farmhouse. Although it is some distance from the town center, it is close to other homes in the area, so you are not completely isolated.<br>From the evocative sight of the sun rising over the sea to sunset, when the moon begins to appear, the scent of orange blossoms and jasmine mingles with the sound of the sea.<br><br>-<br><br>Praiola is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily. It is located exactly halfway between Catania and Taormina, “The Pearl of the Mediterranean”(one of Sicily’s most exclusive seaside resorts, also known for its marvelous Greek theater), ten minutes from Acireale (a splendid town known for its Baroque architecture), and about twenty minutes from the Alcantara Gorges, where you can go rafting down the stunning waterfalls.<br>In forty minutes, you can reach Mount Etna and visit its dormant craters.<br>You can buy fresh fish in Pozzilo, a small fishing village, or at the fish market in Riposto.<br><br>-<br><br>The first floor consists of a spacious kitchen with a dining table, a large living room with a table, sofas, and armchairs, and a bedroom with a double bed, a single bed, and an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, there is a large bedroom with high ceilings, a balcony overlooking the sea, a double bed, and a single bed; another room with three single beds (two of which can be converted into a double bed); and two bathrooms.<br>All rooms have a view of the sea.<br>The outdoor area features a terrace overlooking the sea with tables and chairs, a garden with a barbecue area, an outdoor shower, lounge chairs, and a sun deck.
