Spend your holidays in the countryside and discover a different Spain. You will find our houses at only 45 minutes from the coast, surrounded by nature- an island of peace and vegetation.We are located at 10 km from Olot, the main town of the shire, famous for its natural park of volcanoes and walking paths.

"El Molí de la Plana" is a neighbourhood of three houses near the village Riudaura, away from roads and traffic noise. La Rovirota offers a cosy and friendly atmosphere with the corresponding confort of rural houses with 2 ears. La Rovirota with its heated swimming pool, its playing grounds and gardens, is the perfect place for peaceful holidays with your partner or family. Great for children!

We really enjoyed our stay! We are a family of 5, with 3 young boys (5, 3 and 1 year old) and they had a lot of fun running around and playing outside in the garden. The heated, indoor swimming pool was also a big success, we used it every day! The location is secluded and quiet: the only thing you can hear is the little creek, the trees and small animals. While only being a 15 minute drive from Olot and with plenty of other activities nearby.

petit paradis bucolique préservé et parfait en famille

Nous avons séjourné à 6 avec 4 enfants dans le grenier pendant 4 jours fin Avril et vous avons tous apprécié le cadre verdoyant et calme de ce hameau charmant. La piscine sous la verrière est géniale pour les enfants et les grands, les équipements très complets et les petits déjeuner au soleil , dehors ou dans le salon très ouvert avec le bruit de la rivière en contrebas ont été délicieux. L'accueil bienveillant de Sira a rajouté au plaisir de notre séjour dans cette belle région préservée, peu connue des toulousains qui restent sur la côte à Figueres. Belles balades dans les volcans, marchés typiques, village médieval (Besalu magnifiquement préservée), randos vélos, il y a de quoi faire et revenir à diverses saisons. 100% recommandé

Una casa excepcional en un lugar de encanto

Hemos tenido la suerte de estar alojados en La Rovirota este verano. La propietaria nos dejó la Casa Solar más económica porque en lugar de 14 personas (ocupación máxima) éramos 9. Un gesto muy bonito. La casa es grande, confortable, con muchos utensilios en la cocina, muchos baños y muy espaciosa. Las camas también son muy cómodas. Estuvimos muy a gusto. La piscina también es muy agradable y el paraje de La Rovirota es encantador. Es un lugar muy tranquilo en el que mi hija pequeña, que suele dormir mal, durmió de forma excelente!! La recomiendo sin lugar a dudas.

Excelente semana de verano con peques

Tuvimos una experiencia excelente en la rovirota con mi mujer y el niño (5 años). El lugar es muy tranquilo, la disposición de las casas te da privacidad, pero al mismo tiempo la posibilidad de compartir con otras familias en los espacios comunes. Las casas bien equipadas, con todo lo necesario para una estancia agradable. El entorno precioso, con varias rutas para hacer. ¡Quedamos muy contentos y seguro que volvemos!

Un bel emplacement dans le calme

Je conseillerais vivement ce gîte à ceux qui veulent profiter du calme de la montagne et des échos d'un ruisseau. Très bien pour ceux qui ont des enfants car ils peuvent profiter de la piscine et des jeux. Et si vous voulez faire un saut à la plage (et son vacarme), la mer est juste à une cinquantaine de kilomètres. Magnifique en été car on est au frais, et en automne,car les couleurs font rêver.

An authentic stay in Catalunya

If you want to enjoy a nice and quiet stay in Catalunya, then we advise you La Rovirota-El Moli de la Plana in Riudaura. We stayed 2 weeks in La Cabanya: a top-rural gite for 2 persons, well restaured and with good comfort, a swimming pool (in a veranda) in a quiet valley with 5 authentic guesthouses, surrounded by woods. We enjoyed our walking trops in the vulcanic La Garrotxa and the Alta Garroxta with peaks up to +/- 1300 m. Also the visits of mediavel villages (Santa Pau, Bésalu) and the historical centers of Olot an Girone were very intresting. We were very well received by the sympatic guestwife Sira, who gave us also usefull tips.

Wonderful holiday

We spent 2 beautiful weeks in the very charming and comfortable Cabanya at La Rovirota. The Cabanya is compact - with bedroom (queen size bed) and bathroom downstairs and a live-in kitchen overlooking the mountains and woods upstairs. It has sun all day round, a remarkable variety of birds and is the perfect place for quiet relaxation as well as adventures (there are very nice local hiking trails and a small stream nearby to cool down). It is well equipped and Sira, the owner, is the perfect host: warm, knowledgeable, and accommodating. This was our first trip to magnificent Catalunya and we will definitely return to the Cabanya.

nous avons passe 4 jours en mars 2015 dans une petite maison en pierre, style cottage, spacieuse, pleine de charme.bien restauree, avec un bel espace a vivre avec baie vitrée donnant sur la nature...calme et reposant nos 2 enfants de 5 ans ont adore la piscine intérieure chauffee et les espaces de jeux : salle de jeux et aire extérieure le cadre est en pleine nature entouree de bois avec un torrent en contre bas. balades en famille dans le parc des volcans et a OLOT (a 10 minutes) qui a un centre historique tres agréable avec beaucoup de petits commerce A Olot visite de la maison des volcans avec un petit film tres apprécie par les enfants simulant un tremblement de terre. Sira notre hote était aux petits soins nous avons facilement reserve par email et echange en anglais (un peu en français aussi) Un petit paradis que je recommande en famille ou en couple

A wonderful week

This was just what we were looking for- peace, tranquility, nature, a retreat. With tree covered hills and an abundance of wildlife, the setting is just sublime and the hosts are great- friendly, helpful and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. We stayed in the old mill which is full of rustic charm and I slept like a log most nights. The wifi could be better, but as we were wanting to have a proper break I saw this as being not such a bad thing! I would love to come back and would have no hesitation in recommending La Rovirota.

RELAJANTE SANT JOAN EN LA CABAÑA

Mi pareja y yo estuvimos con nuestro bebé de 6 meses el fin de semana y todo fue de fábula. El sitio es perfecto para desconectar, y aunque nuestro peque es muy pequeño para disfrutar de muchos servicios para los niños (columpios, Ping-Pong ....), nos lo pasamos genial. Increíble el entorno, en medio de la naturaleza, y en una casa muy bien equipada. Seguro que repetiremos más adelante!

INMEJORABLE FIN DE SEMANA EN LA NATURALEZA

Yo ya he ido unas cuatro veces, y no me canso, porque la verdad es que las casas y el entorno son inmejorables. Sira, la dueña, es muy amable y te echará una mano en todo lo que pueda. Si lo que buscas es tranquilidad, excursiones en la naturaleza, desconectar en general, ir con tus hijos/as y pasarlo muy bien, este sitio es de los mejores que yo he visto.

Great relaxing!

I arrived in early October for a full two weeks stay (to work on some project on the computer) - and I enjoyed my stay very much: The place is quiet, very well maintained and you can ask the owner for any help and will for sure get it (like additional kitchen equipment). Bed was very good (not old, not too soft), there is highspeed wireless at least in the hut and outside (!), and looking at the donkey + baby donkey is just enjoyable, also. The pool is just an extra add-on, I wouldn't want to miss. The only thing is to go hiking directly from the farm there are only few paths, but plenty of them in the villages around (you'd need a car thou, obviously).

Peace and Quiet guaranteed

We stayed at El Vell Moli de Baix for a week in September and were extremely impressed. This small complex is beautifully converted and can accommodate couples and families alike. My husband and I needed to relax and get away from it all and this was perfect. Our accommodation was basic but extremely comfortable and the setting is stunningly beautiful with mountains all around. You are 1.5 km from the village which has very little, so driving is a must. The nearest town Olot is fascinating and has good bars/restaurants and an excellent market. The nearest restaurant. La Canal, on the outskirts of Olot offers very good food and excellent entertainment in the form of the staff - tolerating our bad attempts at Catalan! Sira, the owner of the property, is lovely - excellent English, very helpful and charming. We will definitely be going back and taking friends with us. One tiny criticism is that we like to cook with good local ingredients (in abundance) and there was nothing in the kitchen in terms of basic cooking ingredients such as oil, salt and pepper. Thank you Sira, look forward to seeing you again.

Lugar perfecto para ir con niños

Hemos estado en una de las casas rurales del moli de la plana (rovirota) un grupo de varias familias con niños pequeños (entre 2 y 6 años). La verdad es que hemos disfrutado de la estancia enormemente puesto que la casa y el entorno es ideal para ir con niños. Tiene un parque infantil con arenero, una zona cubierta con juguetes, columpios tobogán etc. Además se puede descansar en alguna de las mesas o bancos que hay alrededor de esta zona de juegos mientras los chicos se divierten (con wifi). La piscina (que es cubierta por lo que el agua está a muy buena temperatura) es otro punto a destacar de esta casa, que hace que uno se pueda relajar con un bañito después de realizar algunas de las muchas excursiones que se puede realizar desde ahí. Y no sólo eso, las casas están situadas en un entorno increíble, todo verde, junto a un río, con bosques por donde pasear y además al lado del parque natural de la garrotxa. Todo nuestro grupo lo ha pasado fenomenal y a los chicos les ha encantado la casa....lo único que querían hacer era quedarse a jugar en la casa rural o bañarse en la piscina. Entorno natural tranquilo y plena naturaleza

Fuimos 15 personas, 4 familias. La casa enorme, los baños enormes. Todo perfecto. De lo mejor , que tiene piscina, climatizada, cubierta, agua calida, duchas al salir, de agua caliente. Perfecto¡¡ Incluso en invierno se estará caliente. Al lado de la casa un riachuelo, todo pura naturaleza. Para los niños, tiene una sala cubierta para juegos y a afuera, tiene columpios e incluso una cama elastica. Para que los niños salten hasta agotarse. No falta la Barbacoa. Muy tranquilos, sin ruidos. Un lugar para relarse

Ideal para ir en familia y escapar de la ciudad rodeado de naturaleza

Yo y mi familia vamos muy a menudo a la Rovirota ( Casa la Sira, como la llama mi hijo de 4 años) para escapar de la ciudad y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Sira, la dueña es un encanto y hace que te sientas como en casa. La Rovirota está muy cerca de todos los lugares de interés de la Garrotxa. Los alojamientos estan muy bien. La piscina y la zona de juego para los niños estan genial. El rio y los senderos que hay alrededor de la casa son ideales para pasear y disfrutar de la tranquilidad del lugar. Estela

Muy buena experiencia

Estuvimos 3 noches en la casita para dos personas de La Cabanya y nos gustó mucho, aunque es pequeñita (quizás no recomendada para estancias largas) tiene todo lo que se pueda necesitar. La cama muy cómoda, la cocina muy bien, con su lavaplatos y todo, sólo le falta un microondas! La casa tiene calefacción con termostato, muy práctico, aunque me da la impresión de que no está totalmente aislada y en invierno tiene que hacer frío. Mi pareja y yo estuvimos muy tranquilos todos los días aunque las otras casas estaban llenas de familias con niños pequeños (que es el tipo de cliente habitual) Tienen una mesa de pingpong para echarse unas partidas y juguetes y columpios para los críos, incluso un par de burros. La zona también me gustó mucho porque está un poco aislado pero a tiro de piedra de todas las cosas interesantes que hay por la Garrotxa y el camino hasta la casa está asfaltado y ningún problema. Muy recomendable!

Great family holiday

La Rovirota is great for family holidays - but will be nice for couples as well. The cottages have been restored in a simple but tasteful way, which gives you a warm homely feeling, and although basic, they have everything you need, we got a cot for our 2 yr old, and there's a lot of space where children can play and run around. There were other families there but it never felt crowded, on the contrary, La Rovirota has a very friendly atmosphere, and if my Catalan had been any good it would have been nice to make more friends. My 2 yr old loved the toys that were available for children outside in the play area and in the play room, and my 8 yr old had a lot of fun going down to explore the stream and in the swimming pool, in the greenhouse. We were there for a week and spent a couple of days at the cottage, or walking to the nearby waterfalls, where you can also swim (but it's v cold water!), and the rest of the time going around other villages by car. In Olot we hired bicycles and rode to Les Presses, a short ride of about 5Km, which was ok for the children. There are a number of beautiful waterfall around there and lots of walks. The nearest village where you can buy food is Riudaura, pretty little village, about 10 mins by car from La Rovirota, but bear in mind they have no fresh milk and a limited selection. But we spent a morning at the fruit and veg market in Olot, which was great. There is a really good restaurant between Olot and Riudaura, Bar Brasa La Corda, which merits a visit, especially if you're not vegetarian. Sira, the owner of La Rovirota, is very friendly and always ready to help, plus her English is excellent. We'd like to go back again!

Relax y disfrute

Hemos estado unos días en el Molino Alto de la Rovirota y el trato ha sido exquisito gracias al buen hacer y a la discreción de Sira (su propietaria). Tanto los niños (9 y 6 años) como nosotros hemos disfrutado de la paz y la tranquilidad que se busca en vacaciones en plena naturaleza y ellos en ningún momento han mencionado la palabra aburrimiento porque en la propia casa se pueden realizar varias actividades (ping-pong, cama elástica, piscina...) Hay multitud de excursiones para realizar a pocos kilómetros del alojamiento, todas cómodas e interesantes. Buen lugar tanto para relajarse como para socializar. Si lo que buscas es olvidarte de la rutina, no dejes de ir a La Rovirota.

A beautiful quiet spot, well "away from it all". The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped and had a walk in shower which was just right as I have mobility problems. The area is interesting and off the beaten track. I would recommend a stay there.

très beau site -tranquille et accueillant

J'ai vraiment apprécié ce séjour, le paysage, le calme, l'accueil, la piscine chauffée. Oui je recommanderais ce lieu de vacances. Finalement, je trouve que la Cabanya est l'appartement le mieux situé……….. Pour moi la cuisine à l'étage ne me pose pas de problèmes.

un havre de paix et de tranquilité

Mes parents viennent depuis plusieurs années à la garrotxa. Cette fois ils ont choisis la Rovirota et c'est bien la première fois qu'ils sont si agréablement accueillis. Les hôtes sont charmants, le lieu est très tranquille, isolé mais à juste 5 minutes en voiture du petit village de Riudaura. Mes enfants ont pu venir tous les jours profiter de la piscine couverte, des nombreux jeux (balançoire, bac à sable, toboggan, salle de jeux,etc.)... Chaque appartement est doté d'une cuisine pour plus d'indépendance! ...un petit plus qui rajoute au charme de la Rovirota: le petit bruit de la rivière en contrebas!! Un gîte incontournable si vous êtes dans la région!

Una casa rural estupenda

Fuimos a la aventura, porque no teníamos ninguna referencia del sitio, y nos salió perfecto. La zona en la que está situada la casa es preciosa. El conjunto tiene un montón de extras: varias barbacoas, mesa de ping-pong y juguetes para niños, piscina... La casa en sí estaba muy bien. Todo muy limpio, la cocina muy bien equipada y el trato por parte de la propietaria fantástico. 100% RECOMENDABLE.

Le Paradis !!!!!

La Rovirota c'est un accueil agréable, un prix correct, un cadre enchanteur, un lieu de famille où les jeux pour enfants sont nombreux et variés, de la belle pelouse verte, des feux de cheminées, une piscine couverte, un salle de ping-pong pour petits et grands.... La Rovirota c'est merveilleux : pas loin de cascades, volcans, forets enchanteresses.... Notre seul bemol : on aurait préferé loger dans le charme ancien des maisons rurales de la rovirota, plutôt que dans les appartements modernes de l'Illa (qui sont très confortables en passant) qui nous correspondait moins... On va y retourner plus nombreux, en famille, sur la Rovirota !!!!!!

I spent a wonderful 3 weeks here in April 2011, in the old mill house, one of a number of houses/apartments on site at Moli de la Plan. Well off the beaten track, set in woodland, it was quiet and peaceful, only the sound of the river and the birds to greet me the morning. Pure air,with no nasty urban or farm smells to disturb the nostrils and the lungs. And Sira, the owner, is very friendly and helpful, and speaks excellent English. The town of Olot is about 10 minutes drive away. The unique volcanic landscape around Olot is fascinating, with its volcanic cones, the youngest of which is a mere 10,000 years or so. This is the only volcanically active area in mainland Spain. There is an abundance of information about the volcanoes, including a museum, an interpretation centre and various well-signposted walks with free explanatory leaflets. Although many areas of northern Spain offer great tourist information and excellent signposted walks, the free information in Olot is probably the best I have seen to date. As a geologist, a photographer and a walker, I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be going back. My wife and son, not as enthusiastic as me for walking the early morning landscape, spent lots of time in the heated swimming pool on site. And the beaches of the Costa Brava are about an hour away by car.
