"The private beach and the breakfast/terrace make this hotel 5*****. The hotel is badly in need of updating/renovating. Old stained carpets and stodgy furniture and curtains. They could definitely keep all the old world charm with a fresh look. However, the staff is incredible and keeps the hotel clean and comfortable despite it being outdated. We were very comfortable during our stay and were impressed by the service and friendliness of the staff. The private boat to the private beach club was phenomenal and because of this and the views from the terrace for breakfast and pre-dinner drinks would have me booking this stay again anytime I visit Ortigia. Thank you to all of the staff who made us feel welcome and well taken care of! We loved Ortigia and this hotel made it truly special with the amenities, waterfront location, and phenomenal service!"

"A wonderful luxury hotel albeit our rooms were a bit small compared to the others. (2 single occupancy rooms). Very clean well serviced. Like a trip back in time to the golden age of luxury. Would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel. Extremely excellent value for money."

"The hotel was clean, and I felt safe in the building, as there was always being locked at all times and security cameras, and gated entranceway. Great communication with the building manager. he was very accommodating and patient. If I had a critique, it would be towards the free breakfast. We had to walk across the street to a pastry shop. Any kind of coffee, tea, or cappuccinos was offered. There was only croissants or doughnuts. We were looking for better healthier choices, like eggs, fruit or even yogurt. I would recommend this hotel."
