Aura Accommodation was amazing! The room was lovely, the bed super comfortable, the hot springs pools relaxing and the team so helpful and welcoming. Aura felt like a home away from home!
Wonderful stay in Rotorua--found this place based on other recommends and was not disappointed! Customer service was especially stellar, and we really enjoyed the private hot spring pools that the place offered, a real treat!
The hostesses were what made our stay awesome! They were incredibly kind and helpful and provided everything we needed. The location was great in terms of walking to the town centre and the trails. Our family of 4 were comfortable with the accommodation and enjoyed the mineral pools onsite.
The staff were lovely, they sent a text early to say we could check in, they were very friendly on arrival. rooms were very clean and nicely decorated.
Very communicative staff. Loved all the nearby places they highlighted on their map and welcome packet. Location is excellent and well maintained room.
Really enjoyed our stay. Rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, and staff was super friendly and helpful.
The mineral bath was a bit dated, but they’re planning on some renovation, and in spite of its age, the mineral bath was clean and comfortable.
Appreciated their commitment to conservation, sustainability and local sourcing, all done without sounding preachy.
Really a very fun visit. Would definitely stay there again.
Nice property for the price. We stayed 2 nights. Wished we had more time to stay longer. The mineral pool was a wonderful way to end the day. Close to food and shopping. Really enjoyed our time. The staff went above and beyond with suggestions and info about the area. Will definitely return when back in the area.
We just returned home (Arizona) from a fantastic 6 week journey visiting Australia and NZ. The Aura accommodations were fine..great location and the spa was a treat at night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The one constructive comment would be for the room to be updated for today’s expectations or needs, ie, USB ports, fresh paint, new carpet, etc.
Good motel style accommodation with hot outdoor swimming pool. Close to a variety of eating places. Lots of attention to environmental issues and support for local charities. Shame the outside metal stairs are noisy, especially at night, but this is an issue not unique to this property.

Perfectly fine
Though it clearly is a bit run down, especially in the geothermal rooms, and some of the space is tight, we enjoyed the enthusiasm of the welcome, the convenience of the location, and the outdoor pool. We were very happy that they were so invested in recycling!
Great stay. I arrived late and the key was in a noticeable place. Great property with the friendliest people - both in front office and housekeeping. I stayed in two different rooms. Unfortunately, I found random black hairs in both of them when I first arrived.
Wifi is fantastic - and that was crucial for my stay, as an entrepreneur.
Location is great, couple minutes walk to lake and EAT street, tho food there is excellent. We booked the family room, the only one left, room is spacious, has 4 beds. But the bathroom is tiny. Family room provides full kitchen, including microwave and ovens. $8 for self laundry. Front office has free laundry detergent.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We enjoyed our stay but it was a typical motel. What was good was the location, and the separate bedroom for the kids. We didn’t use the pool or hot tubs. No issues with the service or facilities. However, it’s not a new place and there was a broken blind which let the sun in early in the morning. It’s also in Rotorua so you do get the smell… sthg we didn’t think of when we booked in the area. It was mostly ok but sometimes quite overpowering. Still, a good base for looking around the area.
Aura is clearly a well-loved and cared-for property. I liked the idea of staying someplace that wasn't a big property but would be safe and clean. The staff was so kind and welcoming. The property itself was quiet and is very near the water, so it's a block or two outside of Rotorua noise and traffic. It was easy to walk to grocery stores and such. Parking - dedicated spot for each room so easy. The pool area is a bit smaller than the photo shows but still looked nice. We were in Room 10, which has its own little patio area and hot tub - the hot tub was in great condition and very clean, as was the rest of the room and amenities. We cooked dinner a couple nights and the little kitchen was well-stocked; they provided dish detergent as well. We did laundry ($4 for each washer or dryer load) and the machines worked well. We'd recommend Aura and would stay here again.
