Mount Edgcumbe House on historic Pointe Rapide Estate, is just 45 minutes from Launceston. Overlooking the Tamar River, it is both a world away and a home away from home.
One of the earliest homesteads in Tasmania, which has been inaccessible until now, has been fully refurbished in the finest luxury. Mount Edgcumbe House is, for the first time, open to the public to savour its truly unique serenity.
The space
Comprising three individually styled, luxury en-suite bedrooms all with organic bamboo sheets and the finest furnishings. Modern kitchen and laundry with the latest European appliances, cosy wood fireplaces and spectacular views. Pointe Rapide Estate is set on 37 acres of lush land with botanical gardens and new vineyard. Your stay will be simply idyllic.
Spend your days walking or cycling to the nearby vineyards. Visit Waterton Hall Wines, Iron Pot Bay restaurant and winery, Lavender House Perfumery, Beauty Point and Beaconsfield Heritage Mine. Guest access
Guests at Mt Edgcumbe House will have access to the entire house and 37 acres of land at Pointe Rapide Estate. This includes the spectacular garden and river views, walking tracks to the water's edge. Roam the land to discover historic relics, the dam, an abundance of flora and fauna and the wrap around vineyard.
Other things to note

From the minute we arrived we appreciated all the little treats and luxury features of this property. We loved the bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces. We had difficulty selecting a bedroom, but that was because the choices were richly decorated and oozed comfort. The gardens are delightful and the whole estate was peaceful and quietIn short we were in an oasis of luxury in a beautiful part of the Tamar Valley
