Don't touch anything hanging! We tried to connect a gaming console to the living room t.v & it fell, mount and all. Of course it wasn't installed properly. The screws were too short to reach the studs. This happened about an hour after arriving, I let the host know right away, sent pictures and video. Anyway, he let me know that i was responsible for the damages & gave me the option to get my own quote for costs. I let him know i thought it was unfair, due to the improper installation of the t.v & reminded him that i was in town for the night & i didnt think I'd be able to get a quote on a Sunday. He then let me know that he was going to have a repairman there the next morning at 8 a.m.Next morning the repairman looks over the damage & confirms it wasnt installed correctly. He mentioned he spoke to the host the night before & discussed the charge before either of them saw the damage in person. Anyway, i contact Vrbo, Vrbo agreed with me, it was an accident and it could have been prevented if the mount was installed correctly. Eventually the host agreed to split costs. There was a light fixture in the kitchen with wires exposed.The couch was also reinforced with a large piece of wood. The hosts behavior is what upset me the most. From the beginning he acted like we intentionally damaged the home. He interrupted our sleep to have someone there so early,on a travel day, & the repairman didn't even stay to make the repairs.
