Rough road and hard to find.

No wireless in the rooms. There was in the main lodge. Very confusing directions of how to get here. The road was also very rough. It was a very long gravel road with no additional signs to let you know you were on the correct route. we tried calling 2 to 3 hours before we arrived several times and nobody ever answered the telephone.

Ein absolut einzigartiges Erlebnis! Die einzelnen Lodges sind geräumig und sehr stimmig eingerichtet. Unbedingt empfehlenswert ist eine Sundowner Boat Cruise.

Lodge am Beginn des Caprivistreifens

Es gibt Bungalows sowohl östlich als auch westlich vom Restaurant, die unterschiedlich aussehen. Beurteilen kann ich nur die östlich gelegenen. Sie sind mit 3 guten Betten mit Moskitonetzen ausgestattet. Eine kleine Terrasse gehört auch dazu, auf der morgens früh dann schon Kaffee und Kekse stehen. Manche der Bungalows stehen direkt am Fluss, die anderen in zweiter Reihe mit Blick zwischen den vorderen Bungalows hindurch. Zu bemängeln ist lediglich der Preis des Abendessens, das mit fast 30 Euro pro Person für die angebotene Qualität zu teuer ist. Tagsüber bekommt man jedoch Tellergerichte zu fairen Preisen, die frisch zubereitet werden und dann auch heiß serviert werden.

Schöne Lodge zum Relaxen vor dem Caprivi

Die Hakusembe Lodge ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft direkt am Fluss. Leider war der Wasserstand während unseres Aufenthaltes so niedrig, dass keine Bootstouren durchgeführt werden konnten. Das Essen war sehr gut, es wurde zum Frühstück und Abendessen Büffet angeboten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und nett. Wir waren 2 Nächte dort, bevor wir weiter reisten in den Caprivi. Relaxing und Schwimmen im gut temperierten Pool hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir können die Lodge jederzeit weiter empfehlen.

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay. Our room was a thatched-roof chalet overlooking the river. It was quite comfortable. The beds were good. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were all wonderful. We enjoyed the sundowner river cruise. There were two things we were not happy with. One was that some dinners were predetermined 4-course meals for a fixed price. The food was good, but our preference is to order from a menu. One night they had a buffet, and that was good and gave us options. The other problem was that we could not drink the tap water. It would be nice if they had a water station with a filter from which we could fill our reusable water bottles instead of having to buy water.

Relaxing place for a short stay.

It is a lovely location with great views over the river to Angola. Staff are friendly and helpful. As a business traveler it would be good to have dinner choice as the fixed menu repeats every few days but as a tourist staying a couple of days it would be fine. Road to the hotel is poor but worth the trip.

Velbeliggende og god service - velegnet til stop o

På vej til Divundu havde vi en enkelt overnatning her. Loggen ligger ved floden, som der er udsigt til fra vores værelse og også restaurant/bar området. Store og behageligt værelse. Flot udsigt til floden og Angola på den modsatte side. Flotte og grønne omgivelser. Middagen erholder ikke helt til den generelle standard.

Traumhafte Lodge direkt am Rivet

Die Lodge liegt sehr einsam, ca 4 km von der Hauptstrasse entfernt, direkt am Fluss. Der Weg dorthin ist schon sehr abenteuerlich, lohnt sich aber. Die Lodge bietet Bungalows in verschiedenen Grössen und verschiedene Aktivitäten. Der Sundowner Boarcruise ist sehr zu empfehlen. Abendessen und Frühstück in Buffetform, gute Auswahl und sehr lecker. Morgens wird einem ein Tablet mit Kaffee vor die Tür gestellt. Einfach genial. Tolle Lodge mit tollem Service! Unser Bungalow war für 3-4 Personen ausgelegt, somit sehr groß. Zustand und Saubere waren BESTENS! Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Nice place on the river

My wife and I spent an overnight on our way to Victoria falls. The resort is about 2 km off the paved road. Several turns with inadequate signage for direction. Very sandy road which is questionable for light weight cars, even in dry season. Guest rooms are individual huts and very nice. Well landscaped ground. Nice views of the river. The river in this area is a bit too developed for viewing wildlife. We saw none. We took the evening houseboat cruise which was a nice boat ride but no wildlife other than one monkey. We ate at the dinner buffet which was good. Complimentary breakfast was good with many choices. Staff were friendly. Good place to stay along the river but not good for viewing wildlife.

Perhe/ystävä loma! Hotelli sijaitsi sivussa kaupungista, joen rannalla rauhallisella paikalla. Tie sinne oli kuoppaista polkua peltojen halki. Odotimme kauhulla perille pääsyä, mutta yllätys oli sitäkin mieluisampi, paikka oli kaunis, hyvin hoidettu puutarha ja uima-allas! Perhehuoneistossa oli vain yksi tilava suihkuhuone ja Wc alakerrassa, mikä tuotti vähän vaikeuksia isolle porukalle 4 henkilöä. Hotellin seinät olivat "kyllästetty" pahanhajuisella aineella, tuli mieleen ratapölkkyjen haju. Ruoka oli hyvää ja aamuinen kahvi tarjottimella ulkopöydällä odottamassa oli plussaa.

Best river front experience in Namibia

We loved everything abou this place. Rolinda, Paulos,Matheus, Simon,Emmah are the best hosts ever. They made us feel really well taken care of and the morning coffe on the patio is a real spoil. Great food and ambience, clean rooms, fast and easy check in and out- perfect!

Komfortables, teueres und künstliches Afrika

Positiv: Freundlicher Empfang und tolle Unterkunft mit allem PiPaPo. Um 6:30 Uhr wurde Kaffee auf die Terrasse gebracht. Schöne Sundowner-Bootsfahrt mit vielen netten Australischen Pensionären. Weniger positiv: Überfordertes Personal im Restaurant. Da eine Gruppe von 17 Personen vor uns bestellte, wurde uns vom Trainee eine Wartezeit von mehreren (!) Stunden für einen Burger prophezeit. Das Buffet zum Abend hatte nur lauwarme Speisen. Alles in allem, war das nicht das wirkliche Afrika. Eher ein ClubMed im Busch. Preis-Leistung stimmte nicht.
