Astounding views, 5 star accommodation, Warm hospitality

Where to begin? Everything was exceptional. Rupert and Franck have created an amazing property - warm and inviting, spotlessly clean, comfy beds and stocked with everything you need. Beautifully designed from the kitchen, to the bedrooms, and the lovely living area. As hosts, they provided a welcome basket, recommendations for restaurants and sights, and excellent communication. We spent 7 unforgettable days enjoying the view and pool, cooking and eating in the outdoor kitchen, going to markets, taking long leisurely walks and visiting nearby villages and restaurants. If you have a chance to visit Le Mas, you must! Thank you Rupert and Franck

Met 4 koppels en 1 vrijgezel in le Mas en 1 koppel in le Mazet hadden wij een geslaagde (fiets)week, ondanks de minder mooie nazomer. De schitterende woonst heeft daar veel toe bijgedragen. Salon, eetplaats, keuken, slaapkamers zijn met veel smaak en picco bello ingericht. Tot in de badkamers is aan alles gedacht. Het mooie en leuk verlichte overdekte terras met Weber-barbecue is een echte meerwaarde. Zwembad met alarm wordt elke ochtend gereinigd. Brood wordt op bestelling aan huis geleverd. Attentvolle verwelkoming van de eigenaars, die verder heel discreet bereidwillig bleven. Unieke ligging in mooie omgeving, ook om te fietsen. Prijs/kwaliteit meer dan correct. Waarschijnlijk de mooiste in De Dordogne!

We hebben in Le Mas & Le Mazet een hele mooie vakantie gehad. De schitterende en met veel smaak afgewerkte en ingerichte Le Mas & Le Mazet had hier veel mee te maken. Met onze groep vrienden doen we reeds sedert 2002 een dergelijke vakantie, we hebben al in mooie vakantiewoningen verbleven maar Le Mas & Le Mazet steekt hier bovenuit. Het verblijf is volledig en zeer goed uitgerust - alles is absoluut beschikbaar. Top

Een echte TOPPER!!!!!

Hartelijke, warme en sympathieke ontvangst door de eigenaars die er alles aan doen om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Wat een heerlijke plek om samen met mijn man, de kinderen en kleinkinderen mijn 70ste verjaardag te vieren.Wij hebben heel erg genoten van de luxe van de prachtige en zeer verzorgde woning; de rust; het fantastische uitzicht; de zonsondergang; de omgeving en de vele mooie plekjes. Fijne herinneringen om te koesteren!!!!! Een echte TOPPER!!!!!!

Geweldig!

Alles wat je kunt vinden over Le Mas & le Mazet is waar, de foto's, de reviews. Het is een geweldige plek om een nooit te vergeten vakantie te vieren. De woning is schitterend verbouwd, mooie authentieke details zijn in beide woningen te vinden, een 16e-eeuwse boederij van alle moderne gemakken voorzien zonder dat dit afbreuk doet op de woning zelf. Een heerlijk welkomstpakket staat klaar wanneer je aankomt, huisgemaakte jam, wijnen, sloe-gin, noten, olijfolie en nog veel meer maar laat u verrassen, gewoon door alles. Heerlijke ruikende douchegel, shampoo en conditioner in alle badkamers, ruim voldoende handdoeken, de keuken van alle gemakken voorzien. Alles zeer schoon, 2 geweldige gastheren die echt hun roeping hebben gevonden wat mij betreft. 1 nadeel, er komt een dag dat je weer naar huis moet maar dan heb je wel een hele mooie vakantie om op terug te kijken en uiteraard hebben we de foto's nog!

Just perfect!

This is simply the best gite I have ever stayed in. The location is stunning; beautiful views, peace and quiet, birds and wildlife to watch....... The standard of the facilities is excellent. Bathrooms are simple with excellent showers , and baths for the master bedrooms, and the beds are super -comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the quantity of crockery, cutlery and glasses amazing! Rupert and Franck are great hosts and very helpful during the booking process as well as while we were staying. We are already planning to return a couple of times next year. I would recommend this gite without hesitation.

Exceeds expectations!! ( which were high!!)

Have to agree with previous reviews ...this is a very special place! The attention to detail and extras provided are just perfect. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all lovely, so no fighting over who gets the nicest!!! Spotlesslessly clean everywhere. The whole atmosphere of Le Mas is just really tasteful and peaceful, which helps you to relax straight away. It's a great spot for young and old...Rupert and Franck have thought of everything and there are no hidden extras! Thanks for a really warm welcome ...and hopefully we will be returning in the summer to take advantage of the fabulous pool and summer kitchen.

Fabulous property and warm welcome

We have just returned from celebrating my husband's 50th birthday at Le Mas and have had an amazing time. We are lucky and normally stay in lovely hotels and have always been a little wary of self-catering. However, Le Mas and Rupert and Franck have restored our faith in it and have shown how it should be done. The pool area was beautiful and the outdoor kitchen and eating area fantastic. We spent many evenings drinking and eating there until the early hours. In the house everything was spotless and every need provided for. Every detail had been carefully considered and the place felt like a home from home. The beds were some of the most comfortable that I have ever slept in and all of our friends remarked upon the same. Rupert and Franck were superb hosts, leaving a lovely welcome pack for the first night and on hand to give advice about the area - their restaurant recommendations are to be followed! They are , rightly, very proud of the special place that they have created at Le Mas. All of us are looking forward to returning and would not hesitate to recommend Le Mas. Thank you Rupert and Franck.

Prachte oude boerderij met adembenemend uitzicht!

Een goede vriendin en ik vonden dat we wel een relax-weekje hadden verdiend: dat is zeker gelukt! Deze sfeervolle boerderij ligt tussen de groene heuvels. In de omgeving vind je prachtige oude kastelen en middeleeuwse dorpjes. Op een terrasje in een van die dorpjes, met een lokaal wijntje en een goed bereide eend (erg populair in die streek): een betere manier om te ontstresseren is er niet. En al helemaal niet als je je bedenkt dat er een enorm bed met heerlijke zachte lakens op je staat te wachten in de boerderij. Wij waren te gast in mei, soms kon het nog een beetje koud zijn. Maar dat heeft ons er niet van weerhouden een duik te nemen in het zwembad in de tuin (met prachtig uitzicht!). Gelukkig stond Rupert (een van de eigenaren) klaar om ons te helpen met het aansteken van de open haard. Zodat we heerlijk konden opwarmen in de gezellige zitkamer, en konden proosten op weer een geslaagde dag! Zeker een aanrader!

Perfect relaxing holiday in stunning setting

A wonderfully restored farmhouse in a beautiful and quiet setting. The hosts have thought of every detail to make your stay as relaxing as possible from providing excellent kitchen facilities and equipment to loads of games for children to a full welcome pack that means no trips to the supermarket immediately necessary. The pool has wonderful views and there are no arguments about rooms as they are all excellent. Rupert and Franck are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return!

Prachtige gerestaureerde boerderij in de Dordogne

We hebben een paar dagen in deze prachtige verbouwde boerderij in de Dordogne gelogeerd, een walhalla. De twee (bijzonder charmante) eigenaren hebben al hun smaak, energie en liefde in de restauratie van het huis gestoken. De prachtige oude elementen zijn behouden gebleven zoals de grote schouw, de oude balken en de traditionele zandstenen muren. De eigenaren zijn beide bijzonder gastvrij met veel oog voor kleine details zoals verse bloemen op de kamer, heerlijke croissants en veel goede adviezen voor kleine restaurantjes in de buurt en mooie wandelingen. Wij voelden ons gelijk thuis. Wij hadden een groot tweepersoonsbed (lekker want we zijn allebei lang) en een hele mooie badkamer. Alles even smaakvol ingericht. De omgeving leent zicht goed voor wandelen en fietsen, de Dordogne is hier heuvelachtig met mooie vergezichten. Ik vond de wandeltocht door de vallei de Couze (GR 36) het mooist, door het middeleeuwse dorpje Montferrand. Onderweg kom je langs de Eglise Saint Christophe de Montferrand, een bijzonder schattige kapel met prachtige muurschilderingen van Bijbelse verhalen. Er hangt een bijna mythische serene sfeer, mooi om hier een kaarsje op te steken. We aten bij de Auberge Loy Peyrol in het dorpje Montferrand tegenover de kerk, prima eten bij een gezellige waard met mooie verhalen over de streek. Wij hadden een dagje zin om te relaxen en zijn ‘thuis’ gebleven bij de pool met een goed boek; lekker genieten van het prachtige uitzicht met een glaasje wijn in de hand. Wij komen zeker terug volgend jaar, hopelijk kunnen we dan met vrienden en onze kinderen het hele huis huren.

Stunning, top quality property in beautiful locati

We loved staying at Le Mas and wanted to say just how impressed we were with not just the property, views and location, but with your attention to detail and care with which you run it. It is so refreshing to find such a clean, beautifully designed and well equipped home to adopt for a week and a wonderful bonus to meet two such lovely guys at the same time. LE BONHEUR EST DANS LE PRE MONTFERRANDAIS ........

je viens de passer quelques jours avec mes amis et ma famille dans cette charmante maison, ou nous avons pu retrouver mes souvenirs d'enfance, le calme et surtout la proximité avec la nature. La restauration de la maison ou tout est calculé pour être fonctionnel et surtout retrouver un véritable cocon intérieur, nous ont séduit. Rien ne manque dans la cuisine, hyper aménagée et faite pour recevoir . L'harmonie de la restauration, les matériaux et les coloris font que tout porte à se sentir bien et apprécier chaque pièce de la maison. Mais surtout, le jardin donnant sur une vue époustouflante, la cuisine exterieure pour pouvoir partager de belles soirées entre amis....et se laisser porter par le paysage et la nature. Il y avait longtemps que nous n'avions pas partager des moments aussi harmonieux et simples grace à ce lieu! Bravo a ces deux adorables propriétaires d'avoir rénover avec tant de gout et passion cette charmante maison .... et surtout pour une discrétion impeccable de leur part. nous y reviendrons , c'est sur! j'adore ! nathalie

Magnificent restored and luxurious farmhouse

After a long ride Rupert and Franck warmly welcomed us at their charming 16th century farmhouse where we quickly checked in to our very stylish and luxurious room. The room was huge and the spotlessly clean bathroom featured a wonderful shower, stylish bathtub, delicious soaps and fluffy towels. The bed was just heaven, even more luxurious than in some of the best hotels we have stayed in! The house is beautifully restored and has everything you need, with a fully equipped kitchen, a large dining table and wonderful fire place for long evenings and good conversations. Also the summer kitchen and outdoor BBQ next to the the swimming pool are a delight and the the views all around are just stunning. The farmhouse is situated in a tiny village only 40 minutes from Bergerac Airport. In the middle of a green and sloping landscape there is lots of privacy and tranquility. The beautiful medieval towns of Monpazier and Beaumont du Périgord are just a few minutes away by car - ideal for exploring, the weekly market and eating out. Thank you Rupert and Franck for your hospitality and for creating such a wonderful home away from home. We will definitely be back!
