"Great skiing lodge- ski in/out to slopes. Restaurant served excellent food however it was the only option available during our stay (end of March) and it was expensive and really not suitable for very young children. Also only one shop open with limited food options. Not so great for very small children- we could have purchased supplies to bring in if we had known. Ability to go to other parts of resort limited at this time in the season, Staff were very helpful. "

"This place is a gem for our ski trip. Cosy lodge, our room was spacious, very comfortable beds, beautiful views and daily breakfast was a perfect start to the day. Location was perfect for us and just a few minutes away from the main ski resorts via a free shuttle. Has great amenities and comfortable facilities. The only improvements we would suggest is to give the toilet areas a renovation. Overall, our stay was perfect, and a special thank you to Christo & Maggie going above and beyond to...

"Manager and staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. Traditional sleeping mat was very comfortable and I probably got my best night's sleep while on this trip. Walls are a little thin, but all guests were quiet and respectful of others. Baths looked great but unfortunately didn't get to use them. With size 15 feet I wouldn't expect any of the hotel slippers to fit. We had excellent meals within a 5 minute walk. Really enjoyed Yamanouchi!"

"Nicer Ryokan for the area. Obvious reason to stay is to visit the Shibu Onsen facilities and the Snow Monkey Park and this is a great option for those activities. Pretty close to the Shiga Kogen resort. Check the Map before booking as it is not in Nagano despite the address. Diner and breakfast with Half board was very good and staff were friendly and helpful. Free shuttles were a bonus."
