We recently stayed in Marco’s apartment in Salerno. It’s a gem of a place in a charming town! It was spacious, clean, beds were comfy and the kitchen had what we needed during our stay. There is no air conditioning but he did have a few fans that circulated the air and full shades that kept the heat out a bit during the day which helped as it was quite hot that week. The location was super close to the beach, especially with the elevator which takes you down to a lower level as Salerno (and all of the Amalfi Coast) is built on a hillside. Salerno is a great home base if you want a bit of a quieter stay but still have access to spend time in the coastal towns with a tour on a boat or land, or you can get to them by bus also. We did not have the pleasure of meeting Marco in person as he was away on his own adventure so a friend of his, Zara, met us at check in. She was lovely and Marco was quick to respond if we sent him a message about anything. He even called us a taxi to the train station on the day we left because we were having trouble getting through. If you are looking at staying in Salerno, I highly recommend Marco’s place. Grazie Marco and Zara!
