The Tamarind Hotel is a rare find.It masterfully combines a stunning, hidden location with exceptional food and, most importantly, heartfelt hospitality. It’s the ideal choice for discerning travelers who want to escape the crowds and experience the true, welcoming spirit of Dominica. Don't just visit the island—experience it at the Tamarind

Nice beach near the hotel (1.0 km). What to say about the hotel?
It is a standart hotel for tourists with a small budget. Nothing special.
An excellent outpost for us to drive the island on 6 individual day trips. Perfect room with a great sleeping mattress and all accoutrements needed plus a tea table on a covered porch. The Caribbean view was an awesome experience morning and evening. The restaurant was our stalwart for nourishment each morning and all but one evening. Chef Calvin and all involved were attentive and offered great food choices; always at least one protein, vegetables and dessert for dinner with breakfast of fruit, cereal, bread, local jellies, multiple meats, eggs and coffee/tea. Beer and drink options were satisfying after exploring and driving Dominica unique geography and roads!

Sometimes Rustic Charm is Just Rustic
Great breakfast and evening meals, could not fault the staff who made the overall experience worth while. Restaurant could have a lovely view but undergrowth and trees been allowed to over grow so could only just see the sea. Hotel rooms very basic, no kettle, no tv and all european plugs, very tired and in need of refit. I love a firm mattress and it certainty was, others might not appreciate it. Internet from Room 12 was hopless, could not make video calls or watch programmes, even listening to the radio on my phone was hard work. This needs to be addressed and just not acceptable. Witnessed the staff being told off several times in front of guests which was not nice to see and very unprofessional. Overall very odd experience.
This is a great place to relax and take in Dominica. The rooms all have nice balcony views of the ocean and the sunsets are amazing. The property is serene with its gardens and a good place to see hummingbirds, bananaquits, and other birds. Additionally, the hotel restaurant has excellent food, affordably priced with a daily special. Restaurant is closed on Tuesdays so make other arrangements. By far and away, the highlight of this property are the owners themselves who go above and beyond to help guests. They can arrange any tour, transfer, or other request you have; so you can save yourself the trouble of planning and enjoy your holiday.

I did not like we were asked to pay to iron our clothes, breakfast was poor and cheap, no electric kettle, or television which I could use. I requested 110 v or transformer, owner said they did not have one.

Enjoyed our stay here. Food was excellent!! Friendly staff. Beautiful sunset views from our room. Clean rooms. Balcony seating available for every room.
Relaxing four days on the most beautiful island of Dominica, the Tamarind Tree Hotel was the perfect place after a very busy week elsewhere in the Caribbean. Excellent facilities and service, friendly, helpful and efficient staff, and the owners are always « hands on » and really knowledgeable about the island.
Annette and Stephan were good hosts and it was probably the the only eco friendly place we found in Dominica. There were 4 lovely dogs that they adopted and were a welcome site to see considering all the stray dogs on the island that were struggling to live. The food was VERY good although a bit pricey. The views were wonderful and the property well kept. Our only complaint was that the beds were way too hard. Bathroom was beautiful.
Positives: clean; pretty location;.good dinner. Nagatives: hard bed; very slow service for dinner; charged for an extra night even though i was assured at check-in that id only be charged for one.
Positives: Clean, nice pool, good dinner. Negatives: Hard bed; dinner served over an hour after we were told; charged for two.nights though.we.only ask
