I wouldn’t recommend it at all. The beds are so terrible that I tried to look for another hostel, but Carnaval made that impossible to find. The breakfast is not that special and doesn’t look delicious. Neither does the food you can order. The bathroom always seem to be flooded because the shower is right across so you don’t know if you are stepping in pie or water from the showers. The internet worked for about 5 seconds and then it disappears. That happens so much that I couldn’t even make my check in on it. It was so loud, not because of the drums from the carnaval which you would expect but from the three types of music at the same place. So the television, the radio from the kitchen and the radio from the reception. I had earplugs in most of the time.
I would say one good thing! The location is really good. The rest is terrible and way too expensive for what you get.
Equipe gentil e prestativa.
Thats an incredible place with great energy and people working there! Breakfasts.are very healthy:fresh fruits and juices, everything "real" and tasty! Great coffee!

Eu recomendo.
The rooms with fan only can get a little warm depending on sun trajectory. Although I could feel the boards of the bed through the mattress lying on my side, the rooms are well maintained and beds made every day. The facilities are good. There is a tiny kitchen, dining space, hammock, tv, outdoor and lounge area, as well as 2 computers and wifi. Breakfast included juice, coffee, bread, cheese, jams, doce de leite, a selection of fruits, and cake. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for visiting the Pelourinho. The best nights are Monday to Wednesday when they have kiosks in the nearby Praca.

Good hostel in historic centre
Hostel is good with nice staff, a good breakfast and good location. Salvador historic centre is a bit dodgy but has a BIG police presence which makes you feel safe. Only issue was the wifi was poor but not sure if this was just a one-off issue with their internet provider.

Good location but lack of social life
It's an ok hostel for the price especially for families. However non of the social atmosphere you get on the good hostels. I ordered a double room with separate bath and got one without bath. The best thing is the location of the place which could hardly be better if you want to see the main sites of the city
The hostel is very nice and the room clean and cozy but extremely loud. We stayed there a week before the carnival and maybe it was because of that but the drum school kids from across the street were constantly drumming under our window. As soon as they stopped, the nightclub close by got their live music on and it really sounded as if we would be infront of the stage there until late hours. Otherwise, it is very well located in the very middle of the Pelourinho you just have to be ready to handle the noise.
Laranjeiras Hostel is perfectly located in Pelorinho. The staff is friendly and helpful and most of them speak at least a little bit english. We stayed in a double-room and had our own bathroom. The room was all right but there were some mold on some of the walls. Wifi didn't work in the room but worked fine in the lounge area just outside. Breakfast was ok. The only real complaint we have is the noise. There is a samba-school across the street that makes a lot of noise, but that's ok considering the location. But the hostel played pretty loud music even in the morning which was annoying. Other than that we had a really nice stay!
